I'm requesting these two, both in Pittsburgh. There probably the most noticeable if you've ever been there.

I'd love for someone to make buildings from the Canary Wharf area in London. In particular i'd really like to see the One Canada Square building and the London Underground Station which would act as a subway station in SimCity 4

I originally entered this post on the wishlist thread, but perhaps it'd be more appropriate here:  Hopefully none of these would be too difficult to create, and I would try myself were I even the least bit competent in gmax.

-One thing I think is lacking in SC4 are the boring boxy post-modern style office towers that every true city has (at least in the US).  Here are a few examples I can think of from my personal experience:

Aon Center, Los Angeles, CA
One HSBC Center, Buffalo, NY
Main Place Tower, Buffalo, NY
Xerox Tower, Rochester, NY
Chase Tower, Rochester, NY
Prudential Tower, Boston, MA

Also, interesting night lighting effects (such as the green outline of Dallas' Bank of America Plaza ) seem to be lacking.  Perhaps some buildings with this aspect considered would make for more interesting cities.

And I believe one must-have, from an architectural standpoint, is Buffalo's City Hall .

I got a real challenge for anyone who's up to it. Build the Gehry/Peter B. Lewis Campus building in Cleveland, Ohio for SC4.

More pictures of the Peter B. Lewis Campus building

Some others I would love to see:

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, ohio
American football staduims
Baseball staduims
Arenas
Nicer el-train stations
Strip malls with name brand shops
More small to mid size growables, both res and com

Buffalo's City Hall has got to be one of the most unique buildings I've seen - I'd love to have a good city hall for my games.

I've love to see someone do the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina:

or

http://www.sdmarriott.com

Two 40+ story curved glass towers, they're probably one of the nicest downtown buildings we have here.

The Emerald Plaza would be another great one - named for the diamond shape tops green emerald glow at night.

how about, for anyone REALLY talented with gmax, and who hates themself enough to go through the painstaking process of modeling it, the San Francisco Marriot.

/idealbb/files/jukebox1.jpg

http://www.emporis.com/en/il/pc/?id=118782&aid=8

it's probably my favorite known building, so it would be awesome if a seasoned modeler could have a go at it. (I have collected a bunch of other pictures that I can send as well)

I was very impressed with the FBI building in Washington DC (or maybe we can't publicly build it, ssshhhhhhhh)

Almost any of the buildings in Pudong, Shang Hai

And... the buildings in the Grand Palace in Bangkok, esp. the buildings in Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Pho.

I have just concepts...

A downtown office building, medium to large, or maybe one of each, with an EL train station built in. This would free up space in compact areas, and add something new. If the building could be a combo station and CS$$ job provider, it would be perfect.

Also high employing Factories. The kind that move into a smaller community, and provide 2000 jobs. This tends to cause major growth quickly.

Lastly, on the same thought, a generic distribution warehouse. It could do the same as above, with a little variety. Has anyone ever driven past one of these bohemoths with 100 truck bays in it????

wow, will my request ever get noticed here?
sorry SimTrop, but I really think you need a section of the forums for this, not a thread, nobody will probably ever see my post.

ok

Please, anybody who is skilled with BAT, please E-Mail me at AshCochran@comcast.net if you are intrested in helping me.

I am making a region, which is Germany, 1940. so please could anybody who is skilled with BAT please make me some (actually a lot) of 1900s style buildings?
if you do, please reply via E-Mail and send the building files to me via AIM or trade on SimTrop LEX or SimCity4.com LEX.

Nice. Reminds me of Olympic Park Station here for some reason (even though it doesn't quite look like it. I think it's the Style of the entry (not the roof on it, where the

Olympic Park station is the only station in the CityRail network (I think) which has dedicated entry and exit platforms (for each of the two tracks going through the station, there were two platforms for each - one for entering the train, one for leaving it. I think this was done to increase the effective capacity of the station. I even managed to find a CAD image of part of the roof:

Oh and looking at the WTC (new one) trans hub, it looks ok (the transport hub). It'd probably fit in well in Olympic Park.

Whoops. Accidentally put 2 of one of the pics in first time around (edited and fixed now). Oh and btw, if anyone wants to do this station, (which'd be good to do as a (long, maybe 2x1, possibly even 3x1) subway station, go right on ahead. I, for one would be looking forward to it.

Yeah. Unfortunately you're a bit late with that suggestion... people here have known about skyscrapers.com for some time... Sorry to bust your bubble.

The Q1 Tower (in the Gold Coast) when complete (it's currently under construction) will be 323m tall, which will make it not only the tallest building in Australia, but the tallest residential building in the world - taller than Trump World Tower. It's 100m taller than anything under construction or proposed in the Gold Coast.

Why is everything here about skyscrapers? Some of the best BAT creations are the small ones by baco. I would like to see more props like the fences but especially some flower and tree props.
Come on, guys and gals, the world does have other than skyscrapers!

Yes, too many skyscrapers.

One is tempted to quote Shrek when he beholds the king's enormous castle

You think he might be compensating for something?.

Compensating, indeed!

I am learning to model gmax with the explicit purpose of making some farm buildings european style. That will probably take me half a year to get anywhere, so in the meanwhile:

More stage 1-3 houses please!

More industry! Where are the meat packers? The fish processing plants?

I think this has been requested before, but how about New York City's World Financial Center? It's a complex of skyscrapers recognized by many because it stands in front of the World Trade Center site. Since it covers a large area, it's probably best that each building be ploppable separately rather than as one large set.

This would be an amazing building to pull off in BAT:

DGE1917.jpg

It's the Denver Gas and Electric Building, designed by Architect Harry W. J. Edbrooke, circa 1910. At one time, it was the brightest building in the world.

Here's some sites for reference:

http://www.comfluent.net/about/dge.shtml

http://www.denvergov.org/AboutDenver/today_landmarks_denvergas.asp

It'd make a great government building, and sure would stand out at night!

well, it isn't the most incredible piece of work ever built, but a lot of folks here are building Dallas, and this would be a wonderful addition for realism. The Hyatt hotel attached is not completely in the photo. (i'll try to find a better one)

here's a description:

Another one of Dallas' signature buildings, Reunion Tower is a 560 tall observation tower that was constructed as a part of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The shaft of the tower is constructed from poured in place concrete and features four concrete cylinders. Three are placed on the outside in a triangular pattern and they house elevators that offer the passengers a view as they ride up or down. The center one houses stairs and mechanical shafts. The top of the tower is a three level structure, also constructed of poured in place concrete. Surrounding this top is a geodesic dome formed with aluminum struts. At the intersection of the aluminum members are 260 lights that are kept turned on most of the evening hours. However, at certain times during the evening, the lights flash to different patterns for a special light show.

The three levels at the top of the tower house different functions. The lowest level is the observation deck, known as The Lookout. Visitors can see the territory surrounding Dallas from indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor area offers a 360 degree walk that is covered by the upper levels. Great views of the Dallas Skyline can be seen, as well as the skyline of Fort Worth, Las Colinas, and other groupings of buildings throughout the city. A nominal fee is charged to visitors. On the second level is Antares, which is a full service restaurant operated by the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Antares offers lunch, dinner, and a Sunday brunch in an elegant and contemporary atmosphere. The Dome, a cocktail lounge, is located on Reunion's highest level. Beverages, food, and entertainment are offered nightly. Both Antares and The Dome are on a revolving floor and complete a revolution every 55 minutes. When constructed, Reunion Tower was a free standing structure, just to the south of the Hyatt Regency Dallas; however, with the major addition to the hotel opening in the summer of 2000, the tower is now enclosed by the addition.

Reunion Tower and the Hyatt were designed by Welton Becket & Associates from Los Angeles, California. Reunion Tower is the 15th tallest building in Dallas.

Guys dont get discouraged in your requests we do here you and we do look here but with 20 people around here acctually making buildings and 200 of people requesting 10 buildings a piece it will start to seem like we are not listening. And rember we generally make buildings that we feel are special or needed ourselves. So keep requesting but when you never see the building dont get mad. Especially considering the amount of work it takes to get these things looking decent.

Yes, its a bit of a pinch, don't ya think? <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/22.gif> 25,000 people to request buildings, and a couple dozen to make em. Scary thought.

I have a proposition, that might help fix a couple problems. First, I'm going to post and sticky the Building Requests Filled thread. This thread will be for BAT users to post in when they start working on a requested building. I'm going to ask that the Building Requests Filled thread be used as little as possible, and only by BAT users. If you wish request a building, please check this thread before you do. BAT users who are working on a requested building will post a note in the Building Requests Filled thread when they do, and once a request is filled, we shouldn't need any more requests for that particular building.

Second, I'm going to start scanning this thread every couple weeks and pick a few of the most frequently requested buildings. This will give everyone a chance to vote for the request they most want a BAT user to take on. Now, I hadn't intended to start doing BAT stuff for a while, but I think I'm going to put my DatGen project on hold for a little while. Making buildings is pretty low-key and low-brain usage compared to programming, and I have been programming something, one program or another, for over a year solid. I need some time off to study and work on other hobbies for a while. Modeling is one of my hobbies. So, I'll try to fill some of these requests myself (need to finish the nTek building first, but that shouldn't take more than a week).

I can't handle all the requests, though, so I'm going to ask a few specific BATTers for help, as I've seen their work and know  they all have a lot of talent. I don't know if these BATTers will take me up on the offer, but I'm hoping a few will. This will form a team of BAT Request Fillers, and hopefully we will be able to start getting several of the most requested buildings started soon. I am in no way promising that others will join me in this venture, as its their choice, and if not, well, you just get me. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>
