    I think it's a tractor-trailer driving simulator.
    I've played similiar games, 18 Wheels of Steel.

    Rig and Roll is a realistic Truck Simulator. You basically get to drive an 18 wheeler across the country. You also have to deliver cargo to a specific location on time. You have the job of a truck driver, and you can; Stop for gas at realistic gas stations, buy food and etc at gas stations, and much more. You also have to follow the traffic rules. That means you got to stop at all the red lights and stop signs, or else the police will come after you, and give you a ticket.

    I have been playing Truck Simulators for a few years. I have played, Hard Truck, and 18 Wheels of Steel. Those games are realistic, but the scenery and details of the city are not that realistic. The driving part of those games are realistic though, and people even cut in front of you in traffic. The other cars have good AI.

    This new game Rig and Roll which is coming out in April looks amazing. From the screenshots I have seen, this game is too amazing to even describe. Its like a dream come true for people who want realistic driving. I wont spend a lot of time describing it cause I cant. You just got to see it for yourself. Here is the main link.

    Also try this website. This is the main website

    http://www.rignroll.com/

    All I know is if you played Hard Truck and wished you could go into the hotel and sleep, and you wished you could pick up the house. stick it into the truck and pump gas, now you can!!!!! And if you wished the game had animated people. It now does!!!! You really got to see this to believe it.

    A truck simulation?

    A game where you constantly work overtime, drive for 20 hours a day and take amphetamines?

    Yep this game has everything a truck driver does, except for the amphetamines. 3.gif
    This game is just amazing for how realistic it is. The cars in the game are real cars, like Dodge Caravan, check this out.

    Also finally in this new game you get animated pedestrians. I think a game like this is not as realistic without pedestrians.

    Another cool thing is you get to go inside bars and order a beer. The game has an animated storyline where the characters all talk to you. Its not just about driving a truck anymore.

    If you want to see all 78 screenshots go to the links I provided in my last post.

    Here are some more screenshots from this game. I am kind of excited about this game. I even forgot it was coming out, until I seen this thread. I didnt even know much about this game until now.

    Now that I seen these screenshots, I cannot believe how amazing this game is. If you like the idea of Driving a Truck all over California, you will like this game.

    But this game is so much more then driving a truck. It also has a storyline. The game has mafia that tries to steal your cargo, and it has a detective who tries to stop the mafia. You get to drive your truck in a high speed chase running away from the police.

    Plus some of the other simple things are just incredible for any game. I mean for example you can get out of your truck, and walk over to McDonalds at a truck stop and order some food. You can go inside a hotel and actually sleep. You can talk to all the pedestrians. You even get to save some pedestrians who had a heart attack for example. And  many more things. Not to mention the amazing scenery which I have never seen anything of the sort before.

    Below are some photos showing some of the amazing features of this game.

    This is a screenshot of the truck driving down a California highway. All the cars are real brands found in America. The game also has real California traffic rules and laws.

    For those of you who have played Hard Truck before, look how much more realistic the gas stations are.

    dev3_pic03.jpg

    And here is the amazing part. The driver actually walks out of the truck and pumps gas into the truck.

    dev2_pic04.jpg

    Another amazing part. The driver can now walk in to the Truck stop store and buy something.

    dev2_pic08.jpg

    You also get to manage your own trucking company and hire and fire workers. That is all animated also. Here is a picture of the truck company.

    Now that I have showed you some of the cool features. Lets move on to the amazing scenery. If any of you live in California, you are going to really love this.

    Here is the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, look at the city in the background.

    dev2_pic01.jpg

    Here is the inside of one of the trucks.

    dev3_pic04.jpg

    This is just a town in California

    dev3_pic01.jpg

    This is truly amazing, here is San Franciso again.

    The San Franciso court house

    index.php?type=image&image_id=735

    Ok this is inside of San Franciso. This is just a truck and Chevy Van driving down the street. Also there is a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk. Is this amazing or what.

    index.php?type=image&image_id=733

    Here is inside of San Franciso again.

    index.php?type=image&image_id=739

    Here are the famous San Franciso row homes on the long steep hilly streets. I think they also have the cable cars.

    index.php?type=image&image_id=741

    And who can forget the Golden Gate bridge. They even made the pay toll to enter the bridge.

    index.php?type=image&image_id=727

    And here is the Golden Gate bridge itself.

    index.php?type=image&image_id=725

    Ok now lets move on to Los Angeles. I will only show a few screenshots, since there are too many 2.gif

    Here is Los Angeles itself

    <ahttp://www.rignroll.com/index.php?type=image&image_id=687 align=baseline>

    This game also has San Diego and every small town in California. It has almost literally every inch California.

    This is the town of Mojave. It looks like there are train crossings too.

    <ahttp://www.rignroll.com/index.php?type=image&image_id=838 align=baseline>

    Here are some screenshots of San Diego also.

    <ahttp://www.rignroll.com/index.php?type=image&image_id=261 align=baseline>

     <ahttp://www.rignroll.com/index.php?type=image&image_id=265 align=baseline>

    Here is another screenshot of San Diego and you can see Sea World on the left.

    <ahttp://www.rignroll.com/index.php?type=image&image_id=251 align=baseline>

    Ok thats all for the screenshots. If you want to see any more screenshots, go to the links I provided in my previous post.

    Hey, I didn't notice this thread was here...

    I'm a big fan of the trucking games series. I have every single one of them, from Hard Truck 1 through 18 Wheels of Steel to 18WoS:AA.

    I have the feeling this game is going to be really cool... too bad it's already been delayed (by 1C's calculations, we should have been playing it for almost 6 months now, but it seems like it was brought even further into 2005...). I just hope they don't cancel it 15.gif

    EDIT: Well, GameSpy lists the release as TBA 2005. I hope that means we get to see it before the 31st of a certain month... 2.gif

    I have two or three versions of Hard Truck, and they are pretty fun. This one looks pretty fun, too, and I just might buy it.

    I'm gonna buy this for sure!
    It looks really really awesome...

    I've loved truck simulators for a long time now as well, and have pretty much all of them. I can't even imagine how many hours I put into playing Hard Truck II, lol.

    P.S. That building in the second screenshot of L.A. looks mighty familiar ... 3.gif

    I see a square simcity picture with blurred graphics, as if the scene hasn't fully loaded yet.
