Hey Darmok! I am back! *grin*

Wonderful work darmok! I love the way you spaced out your building leaving a large open / green space - it gives the city a very wide 'garden' look - and the BAT of AVCAB is just wonderful - wish I can BAT...

I also like the way in interposed the various 'seasonal trees' with 'evergreen trees'

All in all - wonderful as usual! 44.gif

John,

Great job my friend.  I too certainly like the AVCAB, LaPlaissance and Jeroni Terraforming buildings...they are a great touch.  I like all of the random shots as well...they lend creditability to the reality of this area...it looks great.

I think this CJ keeps getting better and better with each update... keep em coming! 44.gif

Hey, John

Man, did I miss alot! First of all, excellent updates. I like the new look you're having with designing your cities. The already very smart planned-out transportation system is even more great in the last few updates. I just like the extra bit of detail you seem to add to each and every one of the pics. The small bus and GLR stations really add are really a nice addition!

The 11/9 update. Wow! That small windmill is not small in those pics, my friend. Hehe, it adds a very nice look to the small neighborhood. The fog and rain effects are very cool. I think I've experimented around with effects like that with the GIMP. I like the choice of BATs in the first zone.

And, well, of course.. I loved the 05 picture, the small ped. overpass looks so great linked with the parking lots, very realistic. I agree with you, I love the Pudong Information Port from Shanghai. A great building, isn't it?

Excellent updates, John. And I hope RL is treating you well, I know it is for me! 1.gif

Hi Phil, Yes the Pudong International Information Port is a great bat, so full of details!
Having a great weekend so far! Hope you have the same!

    slann
Hi there slann, I wish I could bat myself, unfortunately that BAT is not mine! I've given the link to it in the previous answer to Alek on page 60. As for the wide/garden look this goes way back in 2003, when jhippolito and paletexan were doing things in that manner, and with jeroni who this year took that style and bring it to another level, so I took inspiration from their work and adapted it to my style, and I must not forget to mention other great sources of inspiration such as Dan (dhoppeii), meinhosen, Bernhard (Nardo69), and so many more! I just love this community!
Thanks for your visit and take care.

Thanks man, and I am very glad to be back indeed!
    Take care buddy. 44.gif

    Jason
Hey Jason, Really glad you appreciate that sector 48.gif , I really think I was lucky that those Ugly Twins grew there! They gave me a starting point, cause I was wondering what I'd do there 42.gif , when I saw them grew It just clicked and the inspiration came for the rest. Sometimes it is just plain luck!
Hoping you had a great weekend my friend, take care and regards to you and family!   19.gif

    Steve
Hi Steve, sorry to say that I didn't modify it with the LE, it's only a Photoshop trick! But I'm still practising, I hope that one day I'll be more efficient with it! Thanks for your support pal!

    godwin
18.gif Thanks for those bunnies godwin, take care

    Micah
Thanks for those kind words Micah, I'm glad that you appreciate AVR, and It'll be running untill I finish the map. It's kind of a personnal challenge! I never did it before the more I did was perhaps 4 or 5 cities on a map and then try another one. When this one will be finished, I think I'll take a CJ break and try my hand at the LE and BAT for a while just to see if I can do decent lots and bats. Thanks for your support!

    Jacky
Jacky, your kind words are always welcome, and I really appreciate them, it's always good to see those who followed AVR from the very beginning. Thank you for that my friend! Hoping you had a great weekend! Take care

    Allright, here's what you need:
    Additional CDK Seaport by Swamper77
PEG CDK Industrial Warehouse by pegasus
    PEGCDK Transition Lots by pegasus
PEG CDK Industrial Style by pegasus
PEG CDK Seaport BRF Modded by bigredfish
And to help you levelling the terrain for the seaports:
PEG CDK Leveler v205 by pegasus
And if you click  HERE you'll find all that is relative to PEG's CDK's lots
Hoping this'll help you, and If I may say so, open a test city and try it out there first, experiment a LOT, I know I had a hard time at first to do it properly! Patience and practice are the keys there!
    Have fun!

Sorry for not posting the last days but I was a bit busy with my pc (which is 90% working by now, enough for an update of Urland ... 2.gif)

Great Update! One burning question: How did you have the normal street on the right and the dirt trak on the left side of the GLR? I don't see any farms42.gif

I must agree with Dan, the GLR station next to the market is brilliant!

    Great work as always!

Hi Darmok. As Dan and Nardo pointed out, the GLR station next to the market looks very nice. I like the market buildings in general, the setting and all.

I also like the picture with the avenue crossing (because of the shadows from the trees and buildings I guess) and the pond... very nice.

The 'your address here' mail redirecting service killed me 17.gif. And thanks for the hospital (btw, nice work with it, LE I guess?), I'm honoured.

    See you my friend.

    - Phil

    John,

My friend...I must say that this is probably one of my favorite updates from your entire CJ.  I love the market and commercial area...and the hospital looks nice.  Tell me, are there any fish in Hook Lake?  Do you have it stocked, because as a proper mayor who looks out for the entertainment and spiritual enlightenment of your people it should be.  I just love fishing.  29.gif

Great work my friend...great work... keep em coming... 44.gif

    Hey John:

I must say when (if) my city ever grows to this size it is as well organized as yours44.gif Let me ask you something> Do you ever get dilapidated buildings with cities of your size? I have never had a city as big a what yours get, so I'm just curious.
I love the market(s) area as well mate.44.gif

    Hi Darmok,
first of all thanks for the link.

Now, some comments about your last update ...
Great terraforming for the pond. It looks perfectly fitted at the right place !
Again, in this update, I see a really good combination of the transports.
A last thing to say is that I like your waterfront, just so simple, a little park walk ... no Marrast embakment, no PEG plarform, no massive terraforming to make all things be square ... and still so nice to look at.

So as always : Great job 44.gif

    Hi, Darmok. Remember me?

I'm sorry for my absence lately. I have been occupied by RL work for a couple of weeks spending nearly 10 hours at work daily which hasn't given me much time for SC4. The little time I have managed to find for the game has been spent on finishing off my new BAT. There will be a sneak preview posted on ST once I have managed to do a successful render.

Now to Osgiliath. Being short of time I will be brief with the comments. I have browsed through the pages I have missed and I like everything I see. I will probably go through the pages at leisure during the weekend to check in on those lovely little details that you spend so much time on. Maybe I will also finally find something negative to comment for a change, lol.

    Take care.

    Wow, I missed two updates!

It seems I start every post in this CJ with wow! But really, thats exactly what I'm thinking. There is something about your Cities which just have this beautiful, stunning style. I love the way you design your cities, and when we see that in your pics I get a real feeling of how you do it.

Your use of the GLR is beyond amazing, the pond looks great and is greatly designed too! The market looks brilliant and is very well suited to the area. The development is looking great and I cannot wait to see how it turns out. Thanks for entertaining me with this great step by step CJ. It looks so beautiful.

Its all those reasons which I nominated you for the Best CJ! 48.gif

    Cheers mate, choco.

    Hi Darmok,

It's been a while. I have bene bussy at work and no time to check and you have been bussy updating.
Wow what a great deal of work you've done. Those Ugly Twins area is growing mighty fine. Great those commercial highrises and great that intersection.
I like also that hospital and the reverse way you used those Jeronij's lots, very original way. Also nice those pictures at detail level.

Finally fog and rain. Your region must be located near to great-brittain?
