Hmm... thought I posted on the last page.  Must not have done so for whatever reason.  Ah well...

Fantastic work, Darmok.  I love it all.  The little villages, the public transportation transfer stations, the residential, the commerical, the little issue with that NAM piece (oi, I love it when that happens).  I especially love the fog, it adds so much to the pictures... makes it dreary but fun to watch.

Take care!

When I see all those nice streets with R$ housing and those wonderful trees from porkissimo in this nice hilly environment it is a pity that the farms don't grow anymore ... 8.gif
Anyway nice work with that diryt trail! And that wacky NAM effect I do know by myself very good - made me change a good part of my road network at least a dozen times ... 14.gif yet I cannot exactly tell why this happens ...

That avenue coming from the highway ending in the roundabout looks good. You connected the street almost like a roundabout, too ...

Fromn the overview I would say you could flatten that railway line a bit more ... it seems to go a bit too much up and down IMHO - remember railways do not like slopes at all!

That weather effects are a nice Hingucker, but the poor workers on that construction site! Reminds me of my university time when I had to do a practicum on a construction site, too ... It was april, less than 5 degree (Celsius of course!) and snowing! Not that 5 degree is too cold but

John, as always, brilliant stuff my friend.  First off, the PM, no problem.......I meant every word.  The update was great.  I really enjoyed the weather effects, especially the rain.  I don't remember having seen that in a CJ before.  Loved the new interchange.....very interesting layout indeed.  I would be interested to find out how well it works.

BTW, I was out with the Brother-In-Law last night and I just had to have a pint of Stout to your health......the Brother-In-Law thought I was a bit nuts, but hey the Guinness was cold and the night young.....

Take care my friend, my best wishes to you and your family.

Hey Darmok.

Sorry to hear that the mod didn't work...

However, the new sector looks very nice. Especially the commercial area along the avenue. I like the liquor shop too. With the foggy weather, I think one glass or two are okay... just for cheering up (as long as one's not drinking and driving of course 47.gif). And where I live, it often is foggy in fall. There are weeks in which we don't have sunlight at all... at least we don't have much rain... (great effect by the way).

Excellent update my friend. Take care.

- Phil

man, i'm actually gobsmacked 6.gif, it just looks amazing, the attention to detail is great, such as the light rail, carparks and parks, if i could incorporate that into my cities, they would look that much better. I've been around since the beginning, but yet havent been very active really as i should be, and i can see ur quite the oposite, anyway back onto the topic at hand, these updates (from what i've seen(last few pages)) are impressive, with the use of all these effects, would you be kind enough to let me know of wot you use, as my updates lack these kinds of effects, such as the 3d lines outlining what you are consentrating on, would be much appreciated.

smirkazor

p.s. The picture at the top of each of ur updates of the bridge and the writing, is that using the same programme, would really love to know how to do it. keep up the nice work

Uffda... Thats quite a hefty cj you have Darmok. About on par with MrB's Nexis cj.

I do appreciate the detail tho, even tho after the 20th pagew I started to skim admittedly... just a bittired of reading massive amounts of text and wading thru 5-10 min of downloading each page...

Very good tho. I actually might start another cj...

At the moment tho, I'm a tad tired...

I've start to read your CJ and I simply could not stop until the last page ...
so after sixty pages (and almost 4 hours glued in front of my screen) I still have no words to describe what I feel : UNBELIEVABLE !
So many great updates, so many detailed pictures, so many beautiful things, so many personal comments, so many ...
... and still more to come I hope.

Probably my favorite CJ si far ...  Man, you have a new fan here 19.gif
Keep up the good job !

Sorry folks, I was out of town for a few days! Not sure if I'll be able to update regularly for a few more days, I'll do my best. And to all of you fellow CJ'ers that I didn't visit for a time, sorry about that, It was entirely out of my control.

    To All
You'll notice that my answers won't have the same format for the next updates. Just a lack of free time on my side for a few days.

For all of you who made good comments on the weather effects, THANKS! I must say that the rain idea came from meinhosen, and the thick fog from sloppet.

    And now the personal stuff!

    Jason
Say no more! That liquor store franchise is yours! So this way you won't have a problem with negotiating your salary!
If i remember correctly I tried some variations but I'm not sure if the parking lot of the church matched with jeroni's pieces!
    take care my friend!

    mayormommy
Yeah, the twins will be more at home when the whole sector will be finalized!
    Thanks!

    Alkaola
Glad you still enoy ol' AVR Alkaola!

    Alek
Thanks man, I'm beginning to like more and more doing those small communities! We can do more free form zoning if I may say so!
    Take care

    Shadow_Assassin
Thanks buddy, I enjoyed doing those special effects!

    joachim
Welcome to Anduin Valley and thanks joachim, I never thought I could be so patient with a game, the credit for that goes to jeroni who gave me the kick in the pants to do it that way!
As for you question, I'm sorry but the link you provided, just brings me to the top of page 59! perhaps just tell me in which city and what update and picture and I'll try to help you!

    aasim45
Hey Aasim, how you doing buddy?
Thanks for the visit, and take care!

    Mexicanboy
Glad you appreciate the layout Mexicanboy! And yes those NAM oddities are sometimes spooky!

    chocolatemax
Always good to read you choco, thanks for your very kind words.
    take care

    Micah
thanks man! And yes Cycledog mod is a great mod!

    Steve
    Hi my favorite monkeyface! 2.gif
The rain effect is done with photoshop. If you're interested I'll make a tutorial as soon as possible.
thanks for your support and take care!

    Pika
Thanks for visit my friend and see you in San Esteban!

    Fabiocb
Thanks for your support Fabio and the building is Pudong Int. Information port . Take care!

    Thatmonkeysim
Thanks for your visit TMS. The light rail won't cross the highway at that particular spot. There will be another rail line near the river.
    Enjoy the weekend!

    Meinhosen
Thanks for your continuous support my friend! Hoping all will go well for you in your new posting.
    Really take care!

    Bernhard
Thanks for your suggestion about the railway, point well taken. I tried to make the slope as light as possible, but I guess sometimes I forget!
The other suggestion about the GLR is a very good idea. I'll keep that in mind, for my next city! What would I do without my tramway consultant! 2.gif
Always good to read you and enjoy the weekend my friend!

    Jacky
Thanks Jacky, it is always nice to get your comments!

    Dan
The rain and the fog, those ideas came from Meinhosen and Slopett. Regarding the interchange, it will be modified later on but the basic idea will stay the same and it works well! Yeah, sometimes when I raise my glass to your health I receive funny looks too!
Slainte mhath!  (To your very good health in Gaelic)
Warmest regards to you and family! 5.gif

    YAH (twice)
Thanks man, and this particular branch is under Jason's management. So my guess is you could obtain good bargains! And for the new update, here it is.
    Take care!

    Phil
Glad you appreciated it and that SAQ BAT is both very accurate and beautiful. Here at this time of year it is mostly snow and wet snow, grey skies and cold weather! Thanks for your support and congrats on your 600th post! Enjoy the upcomming weekend.

    Wow nice update.
If I may ask, what are you using for the parking lots in picture 8. I have a few parking lots but there are pieces of that one in 8 I can't find?
    Thanks, and again super update.

Looking great as always my friend.  I see we have setup up an office for Agricultural Development in Osgiliath........Just to be clear though, we specialize in the farming of Hops and Barley2.gif

The new buildings look great and I see that your trademark parking areas are present.....You just do them so well.

I also like the way you mix up the types of bus stops you use.....Keeps the variety going.

Ok, so it's only a guess, but I am figuring that you photoshopped AVCAB on the side of that fine building...42.gif

Good idea on the Tram turn around....I never really thought there might be a place where that would need to happen...

Development is coming along my friend....You have a great week and take it easy2.gif

    Great update,
as always, your pics are really detailed and very instructives ...
You have a good coordination in your transportation, the alternatives are well calibrate (rail, trams, road and highways), I'm sure that your sims appreciate that.
oh ... and I agree with you, the AVCAB is really nice, is this a home-made BAT ?
    Very good work 44.gif

Wow, again great development! I just love the way you design and build your cities. You always give me ideas about how to improve Green Depra because this CJ is filled to the brink with stunning photos and brilliant city planning! This is possibly one of the best CJs on simtropolis, so you have my nomination. 16.gif I cannot wait to see more development because this CJ is simply fantastic. You have also inspired me to use the GLR again in my cities, because it looks so good in your CJ. The last update is an example of how simcity can be used so well to be realistic and stunning.

I look forward to more, your pal. Choco. 9.gif

great update, darmok! the AVCA building looks huge and very interesting! the loopback area was my favorite. and it looks like you had a bit of a glitch on the avenue in pic 15a. i get that sometimes, too.

anyway, you take your time with the updates and enjoy real life! have a good weekend!44.gif

    Alek
Thanks Alek, and the massive white building is  The Pudong Int. Information Port

    Sum Wan
Welcome to Anduin Valley Sum Wan, and thanks for the comment!

    pvarcoe
The parking lots are found in Jeroni's  Diagonal Trail Parks Tarmac version
And may I suggest that you make a research with Jeronij name on the stex and download all his great creations!
    Take care

    Dan
Hops and Barley you say! Sound's like a lawyer's firm to me! Hops and Barley yep definitely a law firm 18.gif (you see I'm incurable! 2.gif ) Yep sunday at eight I'll raise one to your health! and the suit joke was hilarious...
The AVCAB was definitely a Photoshop job. (I'm better with photoshop than the LE, but there's still hope!)
Yeah the loopback, as I know nothing about trams i was kind of thinking a loopback would at least be nice to look at if not useful!
    Slainte mhath! my friend

    Pika
Thanks Pika, though the transportation network, the EL mostly, is not that efficient in that particular conformation. I had to make some changes later on in the city.
    Take care

    El_Lobo
Thanks, as for the rail see the above comment, I still have a lot to learn about it, particularly the EL. Though the trams roads and highways are working indeed well.
For the link to the AVCAB just see the answer to Alek above. It's not a home made bat, I just did a photoshop trick on it.
    Take care

    Choco
Hey Choco, 43.gif, what more can I say but thanks for the nomination, and all those great compliments pal! I'm just trying to have fun with the game. I can say that I began to really have fun with it, the day I read Jeroni's line Play WITH SC4, not AGAINST it, in a simple phrase he changed my philosophy of the game and since then I enjoy it more and more!
    Take care buddy!

    Dsrwhat
Yeah that building is one of my favorite, very detailed and good looking! The loopback was due to the fact that I couldn't pass the GLR under a diagonal highway and I didn't want to modify the highway. And also that I tought that it would at least look good in that small area. Sometimes it's just a stroke of luck! 21.gif
And yes I encounter that glitch a few times, mostly when connecting a road or a parking entrance in the curve of the avenue. Good eye on this one dsr! 44.gif
Thanks for your good wishes and take care!

    Deathtoall
Hey DTA, always good to see you!
Thanks and enjoy your weekend! 10.gif

There you go folks I'll try to prepare another update for monday.
