Hey Darmok. Great work with that area so far. I love the small ways and parking lots behind the mid-rise residential buildings, looks very nice.

Also the area around the central station looks quite good already. I especially like the low-rise shops right next to it (Toys'R'us and some doughnut shop I guess).

A great little developing area. I really like the train station and the little church, all business except on Sundays.

OMG! I am SOOO sorry that I haven't been in here as much, lately. Trouble with the gf. But, now that I've seen these great updates, I just have one thing to say:

WAY 2 GO WITH FINALLY STARTIN' WITH GLR, D!!!

Yeah, I was hopin' that ya would start usin' em. I mean, I've got 'em dl'ed myself, but everytime I try 'n use 'em, my game crashes back to Windows. Gotta find a way 'round that. Anyway, I'm back, and lookin' very much forward to how GLR works out for ya, D-man! Way 2 GO!!! Keep it up, man.

Really glad you like it Alek, just a small token of appreciation for your good support. 44.gif

    Sandra
Thanks Sandra, I appreciate your concern, and don't worry even if I wanted to do more these days I just couldn't. So much work these days that I HAVE to slow down a bit, if not I would go crazy 46.gif! Hey wait a minute it wouldn't change a thing I'm already halfway there! 18.gif2.gif.
Enjoy the week too my friend!

    bartinator (EDITED)
    Hey Bart,
Don't be sorry man, glad you still appreciate AVR.
The gated entrance is Dan's, CLICK HERE and you'll find all is great lots, Bus Stops, Gated entrance, and Rest area.
    Thanks for your visit!
    Take care

    Jacky (twice)
Hey Jacky, Thanks for your inconditional support! 44.gif

    YAH
Funny you asked, I was just discussing the matter with the Anduin Valley Council.
More on this later. As for Osgiliath, and every other name used in AVR for that matter, yes it is inspired by the Lord of the Ring Trilogy. I've read those three books so often since 1980 that they are really worn out. 18.gifTake care man!

    Steve
Or should I say the man with the wiggling ape face? (I've read Thimoteus comment in Simtropia, made me laugh 18.gif). I think (though not sure) that when those parking are first laid out they help us get nicer buildings.
    Take care!

    PhilsCafe
    Hi Phil,
Thanks, and yes it's a doghnut shop. And believe me. such a shop near a train station can make a bundle!
    Take care

    yaptszwai
Thanks for the welcome to page 54 yaptszwai, and as far as the EL is concerned, I'm still learning, I don't think I have the right way to use it, yet. I'll keep working on it.
Glad to read you again man!

    sharkbait16
Thanks sharkbait, I really like those small churches IMO they add a hometown feel to a city.

    Wyldone
Hey Wyl, long time no read! wassup man!
18.gif Don't worry, the important thig is, that you still like it! I don't have that much problem with the GLR crashing my game, it happened once and it was when I tried to put one piece over a station, and then just ZAP! to the desktop. I was not very happy, lost about 30 minutes work! So now when using the GLR I save often.
Glad to see you again, take care!

Hey man! congrats on your new PC! Good for you. I know mine was a necessity! So glad now, but believe it or not, my plugins directory's so big that there's always a (small) delay when opening a menu. That game is really a ressource hog!

Not in this update but in update 11, I'll show you a little problem (nothing big) I have with the Cycleways.

    John,

Nice update.  I like how you are tying the different rail methods in to this city.  I was wondering, how much traffic is each creating so far?  The El-rail and GLR are so close I wasn't sure if they would pull business from each other or not.  Might not be too back if they each serve different parts of the city.

I also like the variety of hotels we see starting to pop up throughout your town.  In real life, they would be taking advantage of the bus station, train station, etc.  Good eye... 19.gif

Looks great so far my friend... keep em coming... 44.gif

Damn, I've missed another update again! I need to come to this fine CJ more often. That last update was simply stunning, I just love your city design and the look of it, those green grass lines and brown cliffs, so english, so realistic. Can't wait for the next update, I'm bookmarking this CJ! 44.gif

Hey John,  sorry man, it has been a really busy week and I am trying to get caught up here at ST now....I can't belive I missed two update.....ughhh....

First update I missed.....Be sure that you let me know if you do have questions about the LE and I will check out State of Fear.  Thanks for the suggestion.....

Wow, that must be some quality water if Maggot is buying so much of it.....only the finest you know2.gif  Interesting mix of residential in pic 05, I'll be interested to see how it turns out......The GLR looks good so far....how do you like working with it?  Really like the residential area and the way you setup the parking....nice job there my friend.  I see you got some really nice buildings to grow there...The Memorial is looking really great.  I really like what you did with the bus stop out front....it works very nicely.  Great location for the Donut shop....and the Marriott is looking good here also.

Let's move to page 5446.gif and look at the next update now, shall wel.....

Ahhh, another look at St. Daniel's2.gif  Wow, very big Bus Terminus2.gif, looks good, but what I really like here is the highway sign just before the avenue goes under the El Line.  Hey, you can never go wrong with lodging near such a busy area.  A Hard Rock Cafe you say...Excellent...and right on the cliff....I sure hope some late night partyers don't go wandering around out back2.gif  Love the night shot....especially the El Line Terminal.  I am really liking your dedication to placing the cycleways throughout the area....How about some night shots of the cycleways?  Oh, there it is....You can make out where the trails lead.  As always, really great stuff my friend.  I always enjoy your attention to detail.  My best to the family....

    Hey, John

Man... nice updates. I love the outstanding details of each and every one of your pics. You seem to add just the smallest details and they're noticed so well! I mean, looking at the bus terminus pic, those walls and the small highway sign along the EL. Looks great. I see you're loving the japanese EL station and a great BAT it is.

    Excellent 48.gif

Excellent again Darmok, everytime I visit your CJ I wonder how you can build and manage such a successful, beautiful and realistic reigon...29.gif44.gif

Incredible commercial district... Err actually I dont know what type of commercial areas you want in this city, but I must say that you blend shops and high-rise buildings very well...indeed48.gif5.gif

    Jason
At this point in time, not much traffic. The GLR nothing at all having no residential are to deserve I guess. The EL station was at that time 1,800 or something if I remember correctly. Your observation is quite correct though about pulling business from each other. Cause later on the GLR will take most of the commuters and the EL usage stopped at the big station. And I had to take some measures to adapt to the situation. But that my friend is another story (to be continued....)
18.gif You see I'm learning how to do cliff hangers like in the Golden Chimera!
    Take care my friend!

    YAH
Thanks man, IMO having a theme, is the easiest way to find names for my cities, and add a certain unity to the region. And as I am very familiar with the Tolkien trilogy, it came naturally.

    chocolatemax285
Glad you like it chocolatemax! I should point out that the look of my CJ is the result of many CJ'ers influence on my way of playing the Game, it goes back to Jhippolito and Paletexan who made great AND innovative city design, and of course Jeroni, Dan (Dhoppeii), and so many more, it would take the whole page to name all of them.
    Thanks for your kind words.

    Dsrwhat316
Thanks Dsrwhat, I guess that having worked part of my life to prevent forest fire, I kind of like them. 2.gif (the trees not the fire mind you) And it's also a very simple and elegant way to improve the look of a city.

    bartinator
Don't mention it Bart, just a token of appreciation. And for the link, glad to help.
    Take care

    bazzuka
If you really like S_A_ Cycleways, the dependencies are not a big problem, in fact practically every bat has dependencies, so. They're really worth the effort. Thanks for your comments!

    Lilypad87
    Welcome to Anduin Valley, Lilypad.
Thanks for that simple and nice comment. 43.gif

    Dan
My friend no need at all to be sorry, 20.gif I'm in the same situation these days so I understand perfectly.
I didn't had the time to touch the LE lately, 34.gif but be sure that I'll ask when I'll hit the wall, cause I'm sure I will at some point! 18.gif And State of fear is a bit technical (as often Crichton is) but it's almost like a chess match.
As for Maggott's, you know is motto : Quality in, quality out!
I really like the GLR, a bit tedious to chose the right pieces sometime but hey! it's a very small price to pay for such an interesting feature. Though as I've said before I have no idea how it may look in real life, so I'm out on a limb with it.

The residential sector near the highway won't change that much.

Those highway signs are great little lots, I should use them more.

Take care my friend and enjoy the weekend

    PhilsCafe
Thanks Phil, see you in Acorn creek!

    Chris
Glad you liked the updates, and with all the choices we have now, how can one resist to put some details here and there!
    Thanks for your support buddy!

    Yaptszwai
Thanks yaptszwai, yeah the commercial district is growing practicaly the way I wanted, blasted some buildings along the way, but not that much.
Always glad to read you man!

    To all
    Next update probably monday.

Sorry not much time these days 34.gif

Great update as usual my friend!

Nice use of frogface's Busstation - I always had some problems with it. Would have been nice if frogface made a combined railway / bus station out of it, too ...

There are a lot of parking lots around St.Nardo - Station - only commuters or are they all sitting in their cars just to enjoy a nice coffee with a donut? BTW my wife and me, we had a lot of Donkın Donut's coffee before we married... Then they moved and the new place is, well

    Quite a nice update, Darmok.

So what was the problem with the cycleways?

Bazzuka: There are only two dependancies that you need to download - the prop pak for Amsterdam Station and the BSC Trail Parks set (note that is optional, the lots will still function without the yellow arrows), and there is a third dependancy - that's included in the download.

Hey John, wiggling monkey face here17.gif

Lovely update my friend. Again I must say the Church and Bike area are beautiful. (I can still hear those hymns6.gif)
The Japanese Elevated Train Station is a nice fit with it's surroundings and of coarse plenty of parking. I must say you space things out very nicely. It looks like a beautiful place to live my friend. btw I was unable to find the lawn texture you were asking about43.gif See my post to you in my cj43.gif I'll continue to look though44.gif

Hey Pika, merci pour tes bons commentaires!
    Thanks for your support man!

    Nardo
The first time I saw that bus station (Frogface's) I tought What a weird looking bat, but you know what it grew on me and I find it very original and good looking now, and it blends well with all styles. I agree that the addition of a railway connection woud be great!

About the ol' place not being what it was, 18.gif well... that's life hey! 2.gif

I don't know about Chief Wiggum, my guess is, he must go to the cheapest donut joint in town, and that wouldn't be Krispy Kreme!

BTW How's the situation computer wise? Any development?

Have a good week my friend.

Don't worry about the little problem perhaps I don't have the latest version of your cycleways, one is with the T intersection where the texture changes when you zoom in, or out for that matter. I'll post a pic with the next update.
And also the diagonal T intersection where the cycleways are replaced by what looks like a street texture. But again after this post I think I'll check if  have the latest version. So don't worry.
    Take care!

    Jacky
Thanks Jacky, I aim to please 2.gif

We never can go wrong architecturally speaking, when we use those lovely churches, they are living monuments!
Thanks for researching that texture, maybe it's part of the duke chapel! I'll download it and look.
As I said to Dan, didn't had time to touch the LE in a week, so much work these days... 46.gif

Looking good Darmok.  I'm big on the realism when it comes to cities but I never had the patience for a CJ.

Here at SYM Prod., we're several ppl working on BATs... you into modeling or is the urban planning your thing?  Just wondering... check out our buildings... more coming too !
