- CBD means central business district. - Well older industry, so not high tech, is mostly near downtown. Just look at some great Southern Metropolisses, you'll see that there are giant railyards just outside downtown. But you're right. Industry is located at the edges of cities. - That's an excelent idea! But, still, the rich will not take the bus, they rather want to use their own car or the subway.
-
- I think a loop isn't realy that effective in SC4, atleast not when you build it around your city. It works great when you just lay it round your CBD. - Subway is my favourite transportation system. Just connect high density districts with 'm. Busses work fine, but only with "$$". They don't seem to work with the rich, all they're interested in are subway systems, highway sytstems, monorail and train. But remember train and especially monorail are only for longer distances. - I start by building blocks of 6x6. When they're complete I started by deleting some streets, so you get blocks of 6x13 etc. - Then, for your industry. I always lay my industry at the edges of my cities, not because it's better for the city, but just for the look of it. They work great there, so you could always give it a try. It works so well because, now you have a CBD then in a circle around it, houses appartments etc. Then, aroud all that, you have your industry. This is great for the commute time for your residents.

Need help with transportation layout!
Spiritus Sanctus replied to King Daily's topic in SC4 Showcase
I think, because you just purchased the game, that you don't use any mods nor that you use cheats. If you play the game, with no mods ( and other things like that ) I would advice you to build a subway system. I know it's expensive, but is a great solution. Subway is the best investment you can make, to create better traffic. -
Thanks, Mr. Beer. I don't have a CJ of Liskeard yet though . Take care!

This is again a beautiful CJ. You've always inspired me with your style. I think your CJs are the most realistic ones I've ever seen. Baton Rouge made me make the city i'm building right now, Liskeard Arkansas, a fictional city in the Southern United States. My style is really based on your first CJ. I was used to build very unrealistic cities that just looked good, zooming in. When I saw your CJ, I started building the way you do. Please continue tributing to this site with your lovely CJs, I know you will . Thanks for another wonderfull CJ. Greetings, Philip

Show us your home City's skyline
Spiritus Sanctus replied to T-Dot Boy's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
My hometown is really small, but it has a skyline. It's not really impressive and I think most ppl don't even know where Enschede is. My hometown Enschede is in The Netherlands, located in the east, in a Province called "Overijssel". Enschede has a pop of 158,000. The skyline is shown in the following link: http://www.enschede-stad.nl/~Fotos/Skylines/Zuiderval1.htm -
I like suburbia, I only think the red pieces are a pitty. If the road turned red everywhere it would look great but now... I reccomend that you delete the red peices or make them red everywhere. I don't know how the red pieces work, but if you can choose to get them or not I should delete them or turn everything red. If you can't help them turning red, well.. then it's just a pitty. The rest of the pictures look great, I really like your downtown area. sorry for the bad comment but it's not like I hate your city It's just something I reccomend to make it nicer.

Cycledogg Terrain Mod
Spiritus Sanctus replied to Spiritus Sanctus's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Thanks m8, I thought it was a hole mod and not some textures, so I thought that that wasn't the right one. Thanks anyway. (Je hebt weer wat bijgedragen, hartelijk dank) -- Dutch -- -
Hello all, I'm looking for the Cycledogg Terrain Mod but I can't find it on the STEX. I tried google, but I didn't get the results I wanted. Can anyone tell me where I can find this ownage mod? Thanks
-
I really like your terrain editing and the red roads in the suburbs. I know that this is a $%&^! question but I really like your terrain and I want to ask how you made it that way, in other words, which mod do you use that makes the terrain so darm beautiful ( the trees rock too). Thanks
