Welcome to page 7!!!!

Not a Happy day in cowboy land.

So many penaltys ( 158 yards worth 3rd most ever ! ! !)

T.O Owens drops and easy TD pass and drops a couple others that would have been

1st downs.

ARGHHHH

Was that you in the Batman outfit Ski?

Yes, they could have won this one.  It's difficult to win with 158 yards worth of penalities.  (and the refs didn't even call them all.)   T.O. stunts didn't help.  I'd like to see a replay of him juggling that one pass.  and we all kinda rolled our eyes and said "what did you expect?" at his unsportmanlike conduct penalty.

And that one guy had a clear shot to the end zone but tripped over his own feet.  Not a sharply played game.

Was that you in the Batman outfit Ski?

Go Toronto Argonauts! 5 years in a row now the eastern final has been Toronto vs Montreal. (I know, it's CFL (YAH wonders how many people will say the cfl sucks), but I didn't want to start a new thread just for the couple of week left in the playoffs.)

Go Argos!

I just heard about that team for the first time today, because Ricky Williams is on that team, isn't he?  And he's thinking about staying there, from what I here....

Anyways, so for any Jaguars fan (or anyone who has an opinion on the matter), what do you think about David Garrard starting instead of Leftwich?  I think it may be a good thing, because Leftwich is an alright quarterback, but he's been pretty bad for the past couple of games, and complaining to Del Rio like TO to Parcels.  I don't really know, though.  I have to see Garrard play a bit more before I make judgement...

Heath Shuler was just elected to the U.S. Congress from North Carolina. HEATH SHULER. Doesn't he remember how terrible it was the first time he worked in Washington?

I don't know, he could be a great congressman. Only time will tell. I was shocked when I first saw that he was running, and now he won. I hope he can do better at legislating than he did at being an NFL quarterback.

Stranger things have happened.  I know people who say Sonny Bono was a good congressman because he took a common sense, practical approach and didn't get tangled up in political nonsense.  Back when the Sonny & Cher show was on, no one would have thought he'd be a good congressman.

But I'm getting a bit off topic here.  Time to bring it back to the NFL.   um . . . how about them Skins?  3.gif

Cowboys At Cardinals could go either way. im not sure about this team any more.

make tackles and cover fat slow tight ends across the middle.

TEXANS WON! W00T!!! 9.gif We're not even done with the season yet, and we have more wins than last year! 18.gif

It was an interesting game though. Garrard threw four interceptions (only one of which was really his fault). Tack on that the Jags lost about 100 yards or so in penalties, and that really tipped the balance. In his defense, he made tons of good passes but the WRs dropped a lot of them, and most of the critical ones at that too.

Kris Brown had an interesting game though - four field goal attempts (good, left, hit an upright, and good). Carr was a little more mobile than in the past. That and someone on the Jags is going to get a good razzing for getting mowed down by Carr on his stellar run for first-down not long before Carr was taken out of the game.

I think both teams really showed up to play today, but it was the defense that ran the show. However, what was up with the ref's call in the fourth on that play that Kubiak challenged? I mean, come on, that wasn't an incomplete pass, but a fumble that went out of bounds.

Anyway you cut it though - first road win since 12/26/04! 44.gif

Cowboys Prevail against a pathetic Cardinal team 27-10.

Sorry Ski that game was never even close.

Some nice high scoreing affairs

PITT VS NO 38-31 and down to the wire

BengalsVS Chargers together they score 90. ( but worked out for me in a huge way Fantasy wise with LT and Palmer having about career games)

Broncos Survive a pathertic Raiders team.

Speaking of the 49ers, what is this garbage about them moving out of San Francisco? I also read that if they do move, the city won't allow them to keep San Francisco in the team name.

Yeah, that happens.   A few years ago, a bunch of us from all over were meeting at friend's place in Cleveland.  She was lamenting the loss of the Browns.  I commented "They look really good in purple" and steam started coming out of her ears.  Our friends from outside the country were totally baffled and asked me what I had said that was so bad.  So I wound up explaining how the name "Browns" couldn't move with the team and "Ravens" was picked since Baltimore regards Edgar Allen Poe as one of their own.

But then, the Colts kept their name when they moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis.  Sometimes a name change makes sense.  "New Orleans Jazz" makes sense.  "Utah Jazz" is kinda silly.

I can't stand this team moving nonsense. I understand that sometimes it can't be helped, but when it is a major franchise like the San Francisco 49ers, one of the greatest NFL franchises ever and the team of the greatest NFL quarterback of all time, it's very disheartening. It will be even more disheartening and a complete miscarriage of justice if they move to...(gulp)...Los Angeles. Sure LA needs a football team, but not at the expense of the 49ers! The NFL is most profitable sports league in North America (maybe even the world, but I don't want to exaggerate), they can afford to expand and put a team in the second largest city in the United States.

I agree with you on the "Utah Jazz" thing. It was like that season the Titans spent as the "Tennessee Oilers." That was laughable.

LA Dont need a team.

they have had 3 teams there they didnt support that forced them to move on.The Rams were there for a long time. Kinda glad Since The Raiders should always be The Oakland Raiders LA Raiders just didnt sound good.

Same as The Dallas Cowboys are The DALLAS Cowboys dispite the fact they havent played a game  actualy in dallas  since 1971. and they will be moveing thier new Stadium in Arlington  soon about 30 miles away( Smack In the Middle of a mostly residential area  with no Hiway acess, Traffic will be a nightmare, but thats for another Thread)

I would be perfectly fine with the 49ers moving to Santa Clara or anywhere, as long as they remained the "San Francisco" 49ers. The Santa Clara 49ers just sounds stupid, which means they would probably change the team name to something trendy like "Tsunami" and have a odd color scheme that involves purple and/or teal...Wait, you mean we're not talking about the NHL in 1990s? My mistake.

LA does need a team. If the 9ers move, it will only be a few years before they move back to the bay, anyway (a la Al f--- Davis).

Actually, it's not about whether the NFL can afford to.  It's about whether or not the teams in the NFL will allow it.  To get an expansion team requires the other teams in the NFL to be willing to go along with that.  There is always an acceptance fee that is involved, and while it isn't a set amount, the cost of getting the Texans accepted into the NFL was $700M.  So the question now is, does anyone have pockets deep enough to afford it?

That is true. I forgot about the owners. LA is the second-largest city in the United States, so I'm sure the money is there. The question is whether or not people really want a team there. As was pointed out above, they've had three teams and they all left town. I don't know if it's a stadium issue or if Los Angeles just loves their Lakers so much that they don't care about anything else.

His name is Jason Campbell.  He has yet to take a snap in a regular season NFL game.

He's not an "unfortunate soul" really.  In a way he's a good position.  If he doesn't do well and loses a few games, it's not like the team is any further behind.  He will be playing without the leading running back or leading receiver.   The chances of doing well are slim so anything he does will be gravy.

What some people don't understand is, after beating Dallas, the team can be forgiven for anything.

Yeah, they could be 0-fer this season.....but at least they looked semi-decent against Denver this week, until they choked yet again.  Damn shame too, was a good game untl that point....

I guess Sunday will be a big day for him then.  My biggest fear would be that he makes some of the rookie mistakes get injured like what has happened with Carr in the past.

That was a flukey game....

Same in Dallas.

I remember way back in 89 when we went 1-15.

the one was against a good redskins team( I think they won the Super Bowl that season)

We were extatic ! ! !
