Well just like any network, you have to have the hsr going to a populated area. I have a city with a station that was shuttling over 32,000 sims using hsr. Normally, you want to use your large hsr stations to connect high density residential to their high density jobs. Oh yeah and in the earlier pictures you posted, the stretch of hsr didn't appear to be properly laid as there was a break in the graphics.

BBGun,

Check your tracks. The tracks appear to be "broken" near the one station you showed. You need to leave more room between the curves with the HSRP installed. The default monorail system is more forgiving than the HSRP when it comes to laying out the tracks. If the trains can't navigate the tracks, they consider it an invalid route.

The tracks run from a city of 265,000 to two cities of 50,000 each.

The track might not draw right, but I tested it and it works in UDI.

they use the bus and regular train quite a bit, but not hsr.

BTW, i use better pathfinding with the NAM, maybe that's affecting it? I'll keep testing to find out

interestingly, with high speed rail, we might be able to replace normal rails with GLR, but what about el rail, can we lower el rail to ground level.

well i thought this because the main purpose of building rail systems in simcity has now been replaced.

GLR is el rail on ground level!

It is not a replacement for the normal rail, although there exist connector lots that allow the transition between glr and rail.

Yes it can. Drag the HSR just like the way you would drag monorail and the curves will appear.

well I am starting to use the HSPR and it works nicely inside a city, though using the GLR in the same city is causing problems as of the GLR / Monorail crossover, I know that it will be fixed, so I am building it slowly (only 30,000 in a large city terrain)
