Hmm, can you make modified Euro textures for the new road turning lanes?

Oh, and would it be possible to build standard intersections without needing to use the zebra crossing mod, matching the standard Euro roads, like so:
Standard Australian Intersection (click - image is slightly larger than max. allowable size)

As far as I know, frimi2 is working on an extension of the Euro Road Textures Mod for some European textures for the new NAM elements in particular. It should also be possible to change the zebra crossing texture in something else, you just have to modify the associated textures.

So the asphalt highway are working with the new NAM. You just have to follow the order of the files :

    /Plugins/
        /folder/
            /A-NAM/
                - NAM's files (.dat)
            /B-ERTM/
                - .dat
            /C-HIGHWAYS/
                - .dat

    So it must work.

Now, i don't have time to work on new updates, a least until March. So if you want to continue the work, there is no problem !

The SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod by frimi2

frimi2 re-created the Euro Road Textures Mod from scratch and added all the textures that were previously missing in Thorvin's mod, including every addtion that comes with the NAM, such as roundabouts, overpasses, puzzle pieces etc. He also changed the bridge and tunnel textures, so the mod is now complete. Unfortunately, the STEX is down (again) at the moment, so here's a pre-release version. The final version will come with a handy installer (the same as the NAM is using), which will cut down the download size from 7.68 to 3.80 MB. Before installing this mod, please remove every previous version of Thorvin's or frimi2's Euro Road Textures mod. It also contains a file that will change the doubled one-way road arrows to single arrows, so the one-way road roundabout from the NAM looks much nicer.

Download SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod  (7.68 MB, right-click -> Save as...)

Ya know, funny story... I was just thinking the other day that I might get rid of the Euro-texture mod because there were enough textures missing that it just bugged me... and I'd go ahead with the old textures that came with the game.  And what to my wondering eyes does appear?  The mod, complete!

Thanks guys!  A job well done!!

Why has this FANTASTIC Project been secret all this time???

Well, this is the way the SFBT is working. Instead of spending countless hours of our precious free time in creating nice screenshots and progress reports, the time is invested in actually working on and testing the stuff. 2.gif Since we all come from Germany, our homebase is the German SimForum (SFBT = SimForum BAT Team), and we are discussing our projects there for the most time.

Anyway, I just uploaded the installer version to the STEX, and as I said before, it's only half the filesize to download. Get it here !

In my excitement to install this, I've just noticed that the arrows on the roundabout are right hand drive.

Do I delete zzz4 to remove this?

Question regarding the order of files...  With the 3x3 roundabout, I had ordered the textures for that AFTER the Euro mod because the textures simply didn't exist, and the roundabout didn't show up.  Can I now RE-order the files so that the 3x3 roundabout is read before the euro mod... and thus have the euro textures to override the original textures of the 3x3 (i.e., get rid of the zzz in my zzz3x3roundabout folder to make the textures for my 3x3 white instead of yellow).

In the latest NAM all textures are in the NAM-File, there NO seperate texture-file for any roundabout. If yes, it is old and HAS TO BE DELETED

OK, I think that answers my question.  I forgot, I think I moved the 3x3 roundabout OUT of the NAM folder so that I could use the euro texture mod (because otherwise it would have been over-ridden by the textureless-for-a-3x3 original euro textures).

For people which use the LEFTHAND-drive Version of the Game and the NAM and the Euro-Texture-Mod ist necessary to rename the file

    NetworkAddonMod_LEFT_HAND_VERSIONS_ONLY_Required_Additional_Plugin.dat
    to
    zzz5_NetworkAddonMod_LEFT_HAND_VERSIONS_ONLY_Required_Additional_Plugin.dat

That should work for the moment. Thanks

    Edit:
For the missing Textures (which remain with yellow lines) I have to do some work 1.gif

Ok another update: frimi2 created an additional plugin that contains all necessary textures for a left-hand drive version, so you don't need to move or rename the left-hand drive plugin from the NAM. Just extract the following file into the same folder as the other Euro Road Texture DATs.

Download left-hand drive plugin for Euro Road Textures Mod  (1,04 MB)

Great work44.gif. I was already thinking how I could make some time free and help in any way to finish this mod... finally here it is.

I don't know if it's my installation, but I've seen that the zebra's are missing on road-street and  the avenue crossings.
Also the GLR-Road crossing still show's some yellow lines.
For reference, I installed just the NAM and ERTM.

But still, I love this mod.36.gif

If there are still some yellow lines, please post some screenshots, so frimi2 can have a look. Regarding the zebra crossings, as far as I know, they appear only at road and one-way road intersections. This reflects pretty much the situation in Germany, where you wouldn't find them in streets, since there isn't enough traffic to justify them, and on avenue intersections with traffic lights, there are only dotted markings instead of the zebra stripes. It may be different in other countries, of course, but it's simply too much work to create textures for every individual country...

    A small request:

Any chance of making an overlay texture (for use in the LE) that's transparent except for the white stripes of a zebra crossing?

    Maybe even two versions:

    - ordinary stripes  for any road/street/one-way:

    zebra.gif

    - wider (longer?) stripes for avenues:

    collected_101.jpg

Keep up the great work!! 44.gif

    Ok, here is an image:
    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//zebra_GLR.JPG align=baseline>

    - The remaining yellow lines on the GL-Road intersection are marked red
    - The missing Zebra's (to my opinion) are marked blue. I think they also miss on the avenue-crossings. Till now I've never seen dashed lines as pedestrian crossings in Germany (at least in the Landkreis Konstanz).
    - Green I have marked some yellow stuff where I would prefer to see something other than yellow, e.g. white diagonal stripes: in Germany known as Sperrfl
