All I can say about this project is one word: 39.gifTRIUMPTH39.gif

But, there are still missing pieces such as the ends of the roads, several curves & diagonal Intersections just to name a few. I would also like to see the street stop lines and the railway boom gates on the left side of the road instead of the right if it's possible. Thanks.

OK, I've done some more pieces. Road/road diagonal intersections and a road end piece:

euro06oo.jpg

Here are a couple of things I've done earlier but haven't postet pictures of. The LE overlay texture:

euro17nu.jpg

This will also automatically replace the road texture on all lots that use the default road overlay.

I've also done a quick fix for the tunnel entrance by using the one-way pieces. It doesn't look perfect, but I think it'll have to do:

euro33wi.jpg

And finally - for those of you who use the Bus Blocker lots I released way back when (does anyone actually use them? Well, I hope at least a few people do), I've made a version with the new texture. This will appear in the menus alomgside the others:

euro29fv.jpg

This stuff is too much to attach to the post (EDIT: I tried, but got an error message - please ignore the undefined thing), but I just thought I'd let you know, and make sure Thorvin or any others don't make the same pieces unnecessarily. Now, what's left is to do versions of all those diagonal crossings for one-way/road combos as well (sorry for being a bit slow... but that kind of thing is kind of boring to do 2.gif, and with 5 zoom levels and 3 wealth levels there are a lot more FSH files than you might think), and I think we should have all of the important bits covered. Then it should be about complete enough to go on the STEX, I think.

Of course, it depends on what Thorvin thinks, as it's his mod, after all. So, Thorvin- what do you reckon?

Ohhhh Heck yes.... I LOVE the bus blockers.....it bugs me to see millions of stupid busses wandering aimlessly down quiet residential streets that are no where near any bus stops....i always use them when implimenting a bus system..(usually to block all the busses in say, a downtown area...then the riders are forced to use trains of some sort into the downtown and then distributed to thier offices by circulator busses! )  Bus blocker great!!

BTW great job on this mod, it really looks good, offering a new look to the city, or atleast a choice for a new look!

    @ Cogeo : There are so many countries and different styles that we couldn't make each one. We work on a generic style, and not really on a country style. So we could name the mod generic euro etc... but i think it would be too long...

    @ Andreas Roth : Can you explain your suggestion with a picture ?

    @ Nexyourkrunaway1 (and other): I didn't mo the rail crossing gates....

    @ Lakeyboy : For a left driving, we should work with NDP and his UK road textures.

    @ Morifari : you did a great job ! And i'm agree with you : it's boring to do the 5 zoom levels (i work on only 4, because after we don't see the difference) and 3 (4 !) wealth levels. That represents 20 FSH for only 1 piece...
    Now, i will work on the missing curves, and street crossings.
    And you know, Morifari, it's your mod too, and when the most will be done, it will go to the stex.
    Can you send me your files, to merge them ?

    Sure. This is what I mean (I hope the picture is large enough):

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//euro_road_modd_request.jpg align=baseline>

    Just make the black gap a bit smaller and fill it with the grey street texture a bit more.

    OK, I've sent my pieces to Thorvin for him to include in the next release. And I just snuck in one more intersection 3.gif :

    <ahttp://img75.exs.cx/img75/7189/08lu.jpg align=baseline>

    Now about putting this on the STEX, I realize that I spoke too soon. There's still a bunch of one-way pieces, and then there are the avenue crossings! They just keep coming, it seems...

    Thorvin, could you contact the creator of the Tar Sealed Streets Mod that is on the STEX and see if he would be willing to have his textures combined with this mod? His currently uses the double yellow lines for roads. I'm an American, but your texture mod here makes the roads more internationalized, in my opinion.

    A very nice update indeed. Still some curved T Intersections and the diagonal road ends but I want to talk about the NAM Textures.

    What is meant to replace if they have been made yet? This includes OWR to Road Straight & Diagonal Transions, diagonal avenue-road transition, road overpasses and puzzle pieces and any others I might have missed. I hope i'm not bragging on. I'm just comfused.

    Hello there, Thorvin and Morifari! This mod is neat and tasty 48.gif
    But I've found some bugs for you :}

    This is one way tunnels. Other tunnels are not affected by this.

    align=baseline>

    And also, not a big deal but still:

    align=baseline>

    Hope to see more developing of this mod!
    Good luck with that :}

    I have the same problem with the oneway tunnel as marrast.
    Other than that - this is a great mod!

    wooo!! how did you guys make the one-way tunnel in the first place. Its like next to roads on both sides. Where can I get this! and also, will the zebra crossing work with this set, or will it get rid of it.

    Awesome work! keep it up!!!31.gif

    Marrast - thanks for the bug report. Feel free to keep them coming. 1.gif The one-way tunnel thing was, of course, caused entirely by a braino on my part. 3.gif Anyway, the bugs are fixed:

    bugfix05ey.jpg

    bugfix10aa.jpg

    Also, an update. I've done the rest of the one-way crossings and the avenue crossings. I've also done some other stuff that was still missing, like diagonal end pieces, parallel diagonals and one type of street-avenue transition.

    One-ways:

    pcs0oneways6qp.jpg

    Avenues:

    pcs1avenues1rz.jpg

    Other stuff:

    pcs2stuff1mo.jpg

    I'm sending this stuff off to Thorvin, so he can post an updated version. I'm not sure if he's around, though, as he hasn't posted anything on the forums since the last update. If I don't get a reply in a couple of days, I guess I'll post the update myself.

    I think this is nearing completion now, with all the important pieces finished. The ones that remain are, I think, those you never really see much anyway. However, there could be some that we've forgotten, so please let me know. Also, I suppose there are still some bugs that need fixing, so please don't be shy about telling me about that either.

    Oh, and yeah, the zebra crossing mod is needed in addition to this. I think they should be distributed together, however, so I've sent that to Thorvin as well, so it can be included with the next version. I'm also thinking that I should do a new version of the zebra crossings with a texture that more closely matches the stripes on the roads. It's just that I'm really sick of FSH files by now... In fact, if I see one more of the little b****rds, I think I'll strangle it. 3.gif What do you think?

    Excellent work, morifari! However, in the first row of one-way junction images, some textures are a bit misaligned, so you may want to fix this issue. But of course you deserve a much-needed break first, I can imaging how much you hate these FSHs now. 2.gif Again, many thanks for the hard work!

    This mod contains some of the coolest things I have seen done to SimCity yet. Despite the fact that it's merely (I say this because I know how much work went into it) a bunch of texture alterations and some new exemplars (for the one-way tunnels, I'd presume), it is very impressive that you should spend your time doing this. Things like this are the only thing about SimCity 4 that annoys me - when I can't do things like have a road elevated section directly next to a road that sinks down and goes into a tunnel...

    How was that done, by the way? I've never been able to get two roads directly next to each other to do that, although I have spent many hours trying ... what's the secret? A mod? lol, if so, I'd LOVE to get my hands on that ... hehe.

    Also, I know this is off-topic but I think you're the best person to ask ... how do you make the roadtop mass transit lots NOT go into partial underground mode when you select them from the menu? I'd like to plop them simply as you do normal buildings ... in addition, how do you make a lot go into full subway view when you pick it out of the menu? Is it the OccupantGroups that controls this? Thanks again for all your time and effort - it shows.

    In fact, it's ONLY a bunch of texture alterations. Hey, I never claimed it was rocket science.

    As for the rest of your questions, I'm buggered if I know. How to build one-way tunnels next to roads has nothing to do with this. Marrast...?

    THANKS FOR THIS MOD!!!

    It's a great work. There is only one thing, which i'm still missing: the streets in my town (and many other towns in Europe) are not black - they are grey (like in SimCity200044.gif)! I will be very very happy (and maybe all of us european city builders), if this could be realised.

    And once again: THANKS!

    To Morifari & Equinox: Sorry for starting offtopic with these tunnels, I've PM to Equinox about it.
    In a few words, this can be done with transit enabled lots 2.gif
