New Embankment With Diagonal Feature

I had a quick look and just wanted to give some hints about the menu entries. The second icon (1x2 orthogonal lot with trees) has a shifting icon when you hover the cursor on it. There are also some small spelling errors, and I noticed some descriptions have to many empty lines below the monthly cost entry (just delete all lines below this caption in the LTEXT files). The following is more a personal issue, and maybe it's too much work to change it again - the background of the icons is a tad too bright - it's hard to see the white border around the icons when you hover the cursor over them. Of course you'll still see what icon is selected, but I must admit I was puzzled a bit when I scrolled though the menu.

Ok, so far for the bugs, and I don't want to get branded as an annoying nit-picker. 2.gif The embankment lots itself work really well, and they look fabulous! I can't wait to use them in my cities, and it's so great to have diagonals, too. The filler tiles are also useful for other purposes, such as plazas everywhere in the city. Some time ago, I made a christmas market (download on my personal website: http://home.arcor.de/simcityportrait/lots_e.htm ) with exactly the same base texture, I guess it will fit very well to your embankment set.

isn't that possible to make shorter menus like the one with have with the NAM, where you only use the TAB key to switch between different elements? All my menus are currently flooded by thousands of lots, and if we could have 3 or 4 buttons each of them with several possibilities, that would be 44.gif

    Oh, thank you, guys for the answers :} It's really important for me.

    To Andreas Roth: Oh, i agree with you. The background is too bright, i also have some discomfort when scrolling it. I will change the background. It's not very hard :} Also, a shift and empty lines will be fixed :}
    Oh, and I will check the text too. But here is some problems arise - it's really hard to classify all the peaces and write a correct annotation for each of it. And it's becomes more difficult when your english is bad 43.gif
    Thank you for your help in makin' finall release better!

    To Benlemaire:  As i know, this feature is imposible for custom lots. By the way, i dont find it very handy.

    To All: Thanks again for testing, guys!

    In addition to what I have said above, I think the monthly cost indicator should be moved up, directly below the main title caption. This is the way Maxis has made all info bubbles. If you want, I can send you the fixed LTEXT files in a DAT, so you only have to copy & paste them into your lots. Obviously, English isn't my mother tongue either, but I guess I'm quite familiar with it, since I do all translations for SimsZone.de as well. (Oh, and your English isn't that bad at all!) 2.gif

    Oh, that would be really great, if you can do that, please! 29.gif

    Thank you very, very much, Andreas.

    What was I thinking?! How could I not see this thread before? It's absolutely AWESOME !! 44.gif
    I just downloaded it, can't wait to go back and test it tonight. 29.gif

    (I swear I almost cried when, as I was reading the thread and got to page 3, I realized that  the first beta version wasn't available for download anymore...! But then page 6 made soooo happy! 17.gif )

    To Pansarkatt: That's great! Thank you for testing 48.gif

    To All: I've improved the icons and infos (big thanks to Andreas again).
    Now, orthogonal, diagonal and filler lots are separated by background colour:

    align=baseline>

    So the idea is:
    blue - orthogonal;
    green - diagonal;
    brown - fillers;

    I think it will make the using of this set more handy while using.

    Hi marrast,

    Just two things.

    1 Beta 2 works perfect !!!

    muros%20marrast.jpg

    2. Pls, dont change and/or add too many things in the final release. It has been a nightmare to deal with them as good as  they are now !!! 2.gif ja ja ja ja 17.gif

    This is a truly great piece of work, Marrast...!!! 44.gif

    I tested the beta version this week-end and as far as I know there was no trouble whatsoever.  2.gif

    It takes a short while to learn how to use the tiles properly but after you get used to it the result is really beautiful.

    Thanks a lot!! You're doing a wonderful job.

    PS: it is a very good idea to change the background color in the menu depending on the type of tiles, I think.  29.gif

    Oh, i'm glad, that you guys find this colour separation idea cool :}
    I've got to say that i've uploaded the final release on a STEX few moments ago.

    So, thank everybody for the testing, ideas and suggestions.
    Big special THANK YOU to Jeroni, for his elp with the custom texture.
    Also, i'd like to thank Andreas Roth for his help with LTEXTs.

    Oh, forgot to say -
    To beta testers: If you will use the final version, delete the beta. I'm sure, you guys know about it, it's just on the off chance :
    To All: 49.gif Also, i have a suggestion - what if to use this thread for posting ideas on using this set?

    LOVE the embankment set!

    I know it's designed to get wet, but also works to prevent landslides in the foothills.

    I think I will, first I would like to say thanx again for this great set, I waited till you released these to start my new region, and if the rest of my city design work as well as these pieces I might start a CJ with this one, lol

    ok, the first area I started is going to be the port area and partial CBD for the region, about 90% of the time I was able to use the existing pieces without modding the areas I had already leveled, there were a few issues with tight corners and under bridge pieces but that is to be expected, I think I have used every angle possible, lol

    GAME CRASHING WITH MARRAST EMBANKMENT

    MAC USERS : Anybody has the game (RH version) freezing with the lots in plugins folder ?

    Everything work fine for a while, then after some terraforming and placing/demolishing the embankment, the game freezes !

    Seems it was more of a corrupt city file (hope so)

    the embankment set is awesome!

    I hope marrast will do some works to include this:

    mes_001a.jpg

    it is a waterway going through the embankment for interfacing with the PEG stream kit . maybe can add-in the transition for the oppie canal set also.

    just some suggestions.
