First off, I thought this would be a good enough place as any for my first post.  I have been lingering here at Simtopolis for several months.  It's amazing how much I have learned about this game I have been playing since it's first inception.  Now on to topic.  The embankement walls are fantastic.  I have been testing them for several days, finding myself putting them almost everywhere along a bank that was bare.

I do agree about the shadows marrast, I have a pic below of just such an instance.  It almost makes it look glitchy.  I also attatched the pic to forward a request.    Would it be possibel to include a outside corner piece that would have the under bridge type extension on it?  From the pic you can see that I have a water taxi station that is centered on 3 tile wide outcropping.  The only thing missing is the embankment just below.  It is possible to have this situation with some bridge building as well.

Keep up the great work!!!<ahttp://img210.exs.cx/img210/1632/jdhcountyfeb1044911077004677nb.png align=baseline>

ok , first, i really like the embankments.

here's a thought about it, it works perfect for left 1x1 diagonal cells, but for right 1x1 diagonal cells is the embankment too big. here#s a screen that may help

To Nardo69: I think you're right.

To All: Guys, what you think about adding a second diagonal piece (a mirror to the one we have)?
This will allow to change the internal orthogonal-diagonal and external diagonal-orthogonal pieces both to smaller ones.
Also i'm thinking about rendering again all the props. They are too dark in the shadow, i don't like it...

Since i will do that, i can extend the props more downward, to prevent 'hanging' over the bottom if the bottom is deep and the water is transparent.
Is it really needed?

To Silvercanyon2000: It was a beta version. It's no longer aviable, sorry.

Edit: forgot to say - my attempt to create additional lods for zoom level 1 and 2 is failed. It's not works. So... The props still looks ugly at zoom levels 1 and 2 15.gif

that would be great to see a mirror one of the current one.

To Dargor and Psteverific: Oh, yeah, thank you for this bug. I will fix that, it's kinda render bug, it appears even in LE. So i will render this prop again :}
Psteverific, you mean a diagonal underbridge piece, or what? :}

No, No... Not the underbridge, I know that won't be included.

It was really more of a brainfart on my part... nothing wrong with the diagonals other than that render bug.

    All right. I have some news :}

    I've started new rendering from the straight pieces, so here is an improvement on embankment props.

    How it was  and how it's now:

    - how it was;
    - how it's now;

    And now, i'd like to thank Jeroni for his great work on custom overlay texture for the diagonal filler lot, and makin' this possible:

    -  Diagonal promenade;

    Thanks to Jeroni!

    Edit: Hm.. 30.gif the BB didn't let me reinsert the pics directly in this post for some reason...

    Oh, sorry guys! I think it will not take very long. I just need to finish new diagonal corner pieces and render some old props. I can say that the orthogonal part of the set is ready, so the second beta will be out this week i hope...

    I'm just foolin' around with my CJ at this moment  21.gif

    Oh, well, i have some news concerning this project :}
    First of all, i've made a mirror version of the diagonal piece. Also the internal and external diagonal-orthogonal corners are modified.
    But there is some bad things..

    Firstly, since we have the second diagonal piece, we need two mirrored end pieces for it. That's why the set already counts 22 lots...
    Moreover, while some testing, i've found this problem:

    emb026.jpg

    emb027.jpg

    How to connect different diagonal pieces 42.gif
    The second situation has a very simple solution, you just need to plop one of the diagonal pieces till they will be connected:

    emb028.jpg

    But the first situation has only one possible solution at this moment:

    emb029.jpg

    So, that's why i must create third diagonal piece that will allow to cover the gap like this.

    Edit: I have and idea! When this set will be on a STEX, it will be released by two parts. Orthogonal part, and diagonal part. What you say? 19.gif

    I vote for 1 set. I'd download 22 sets if you released them individually so 1 set is certainly more convenient. You could release it as 1 set (zip file) with 2 dat files but I don't think that's practical since if you want to use these, you'll probably want all the pieces so you can handle whatever terrain directions your shoreline takes. And that's my advice... which is probably worth what you're paying for it. lol

    Believe in only what you can prove.

    Marrast, don't worry about the amount of tiles... Since they are in the harbour-menu... There is room in there.

    Well, my seaport menu is quite full already - mainly because of numerous PEG lots I have installed. 2.gif Of course I will use all embankment lots you made as well, but personally, I don't like huge DATs where everything is stuffed into. At least othogonal and diagonal lots should be separated, and maybe it's even better to keep the lot files separate, so everyone can pick only the ones he's really interested in.

    Thanks for feedback, friends!

    Looks like Andreas Roth is right.
    In the official release, the lots will be separated from the dat with the models and descs.

    By the way, here is a second beta (3,95 Mg). The last one i hope.
    Info about improvements and instalation are inside.

    Edit: Beta 2.0 is no longer aviable, sorry!

    Stay tuned to the official release 16.gif
