I dunno, I'm just bored and I think this is a cool city I'm making.
Here's what's done so far...
<img align=baseline>
Orange Island
<img align=baseline>
North Orange Bay (The Suburbs)
<img align=baseline>
The Port District Next to Toll State Road 616 [The Orlando Expressway]
<img align=baseline>
Orange Bay University, What town isn't a town with out a little University Downtown.
All Along the Channel will be Riverside Parks and River Walks.
I wanted to base the city off of how my hometown is ( tampa) but I decided to go for my own look.
I will eventually however make a Tampa Bay map and make it just like the actual city.

Where did you get that cool-looking railway station from (third picture down, on the left)?

So far, it's looking good. 44.gif

I definitely see potential in this CJ. At least now I know that I'm not the only person who gives route numbers to most or all of my roads. 9.gif  I'd be curious to see a region view so I can see where the roads go after leaving the city limits.

Some suggestions, before someone else tells you and deletes your pics, the pics need to be 800x600 (or is it 600x800) at the biggest (about the fifth camera size when you take the in-game pics is 800x600).

With the thought you give to numbering your roads, you should download the netword add-on Mod (NAM) from the STEX, I think you'd probably make some cool stuff with that. In your commercial areas, you might have bigger blocks. I usually make my blocks about 6x6. The road networks look griddy, but I think you're looking for a downtown feel.

I'm looking forward to seeing more. 44.gif

    Ok, So I've been a bit busy with High School, Wrestling, and my girlfriend so rebuilding has been slow, I just got my city to 20,000 residents.
    So, here's the rebuild (I had to re teraform the entire map)
    Luckily my region wasn't devoloped yet because I'm still drawing up my ideas for the other 2 larger cities (I think I'm going to make New Tampa and New Ybor off of them (those are two cities that I live near))
     A Little History of Orange Bay...

    Founded by Germans in the 1800's It's original name was San Diego, which of course in German means.... Nah Just kidding
    But it was founded by Germans and it's original name was Dietrichberg (After Wilfried Dietrich a German Olympian Wrestler), Dietrichberg was renamed after being annexed by America, since Orange Trees were abundant they apporiatly renamed it Orange Bay, but gave the Germans their credit by calling this new state Dietrich Staadt(Dietrich State) In Orange Bay there is Dietrich Staadt University as well as the small University of Orange Bay right near downtown.
    But that's future, Before Mayor Joseph, Orange Bay was just a small farm village. After Mayor Joseph, it turned in to a Megatropolis.

    A Real history, I was playing around with ideas for a city, and it occured to me it'd be awesome to have a small island bay next to a large body of land, and make it so you can walk along this channel or river or cannal and look at the skylines to both sides, so I seperated the two sides and thus created Orange Bay, as I went along making this map I decided that it needed an east side too, which made the two seperate cities of Orange Bay and Dietrich Port. Well Here's what the new city looks like...

    align=baseline>

    The University of Orange Bay [Channelside Parks Underconstruction]
    align=baseline>
    The East Side of The University
    align=baseline>
    Orange Bay Port, situated on Dietrich Blvd, I-285, and Toll S.R 589/I-26
    align=baseline>
    Boring Suburbs, Hate 'em but gotta have 'em [population booster]
    align=baseline>
    Thats I-285 and the slanted road is Bevin Blvd (U.S 241)

    Now for Dietrich Port the newest part I've added
    align=baseline>
    Dietrich Channel & Dietrich Port
    align=baseline>
    Dietrich Port to the Airport

    More History on Orange Bay:
    In 1920 a Hurricane swept through and destroyed much of the original downtown, it wasn't rebuilt until Mayor Joseph took office.
    Regrowth was slow until the major corperation Coca-Cola decided to put a new plant there. Coca-Cola made the descision after notcing Orange Bay's huge population increase in such a short time. which now charts at 27,000.
    When Coca-Cola built their plant, Bellsouth saw potential too and built a sky scraper near it.

    align=baseline>
    Once so, Downtown was restored and people voted to re-zone downtown, and re-open old etertainment/civic buildings lost in the hurricane
    align=baseline>
    align=baseline>
    That's all for now. Might not be an update tomarrow, my girlfriend doesn't have soccer practice so I don't have free time. Stay Tooned though!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sorry to hear that your first city bit the dust. I feel your pain. My first cj, Richardson County, suffered the same fate. I learned a valuable lesson then, which I will share with you now. BACK UP YOUR CITY!!29.gif When you get this up to 6 or 7 pages, or more, you will be really bummed out if you lose it. Since starting my current CJ, Landfall, I back it up every time I update. Good looking work so far. Keep it up.44.gif

    I'm a bit like you.

    When I first started, I enjoyed naming the streets more than anything else

    OK, So, now Orange Bay is doing quite well, hitting 60,000 people and sky scrapers entering the scene!
    Sorry for the lack of updates around the bay, however, there really isn't much growth else where.
    For the first time my city is growing with out any problems, I have yet to face a commercial defecit demand.
    So now, The Bank of china see's opertunity and builds a copy of their world famous Bank of China building.
    And the JT_Tower people build 2 twin residential sky scrapers
    align=baseline>
    A convention Center is suggested after the commercial boom is noted
    align=baseline>
    Then a Resourt Hotel is built for the convention center
    align=baseline>
    And now First National Plaza is built, making it the largest sky scrapper in Orange Bay.
    align=baseline>
    That's all for now, perhaps an update tomarrow?

    OK, so, Orange Bay is growing expodentionaly, and companies are noting this, so now Orange Bay is getting tourists.
    align=baseline>
    Companies chartered an Arena and a stadium to be built
    align=baseline>
    Downtown just keeps growing

    align=baseline>
    Due to the tourism increase, Orange Bay City Council has agreed to rebuild Old Orange Bay
    align=baseline>

    align=baseline>

    That's it for this update, morre later.

    44.gifNice downtown, glad you're getting things working again. I'd be interested in seeing a map or zoomed out shot showing major route numbers, since I'm curious where the routes go. Also what kind of route numbering system do you go by as far as what road gets what classification? I'm looking forward to seeing more!29.gif
