I am sure looking forward to this school week, only three days! I'm hoping that on Friday I can go meet some friends and see a movie or something, but I keep feeling I'll end up just doing homework.

How about a a bismarck and a glass of milk? (At least Bismarck is easier to spell than Gneisenau, let alone pronounce.3.gif)

@N_O_Body: translator is a really tricky job. That's something I'll never do. Your last post is a very good example of weird translation-understanding... By Voting with your feet [...], I guess that you mean to walk away.  Well, I hope so since the 1st level meaning in French is not used in that particular context. The 2nd level meaning would and voting with your feet would mean something like using feet instead of brain to think (and then vote), which is obviously not the kindest thing to say.

BTW, I'm testing a new chair warming technology actually. No, it doesn't use zuke's venom. I already scrapped one of your chair testing it.

@CDI-Spy: is Two Rivers a local microbrewery? Do they have a stout?

@Leech10: I discovered zuke's venom power when I tried to take a sample: it dissolved my test tube and I scrapped a chair. Fortunately, I discovered a way to operate atomic fusion on a very very small scale. I'm actually testing my prototype on a seat here. I hope it won't blow up like the Bikini atoll..

@vidioman: at Christmas, we're giving are receiving gifts, we have to decide between turkey and ham... It sounds the same as campaign for me anyway!

@Voar Tok: congratulations! That's my 372th. Nothing to celebrate.

That's p. 66... Is someone a fan of Depeche Mode here?

Very strange...

My hair is turning blonde again. It used to do that all the time when I was a kid, but it's been several years. At first, I thought I was getting massive grey areas, but my bf checked and I am not. Then I thought it was the lighting, but it isn't.

I'm just turning blonde again... I thought I outgrew that...

I still have a bit of grey on my temples though.

*Sits back and awaits inevitable blonde jokes*

I'd like to order some North Carolina style BBQ ribs and pulled pork with a mess of greens and a pitcher of tea. And make sure the sauce is vinegar-based. Yes, I know it takes all day to smoke the BBQ properly, but I can wait. *whistles Dixie*

I'm feeling a bit picky today. Did ya notice? 2.gif

Execute order 66...

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

@Leech10 : I discovered zuke's venom power when I tried to take a sample: it dissolved my test tube and I scrapped a chair.
Beware when using plastic test tubes with zuke venom. They will react and it may cause a dangerous build up of hydrogen gas.

The zukes go into the bathroom and take the XBox out and relocate it to the back room, where they begin to play.

@ hym: Well, I think console systems are a racket. It is bad enough that there are PC games like GTA, but we don't need to increase the drain on the consumer by pushing yet more computer technology on a limited platform. What a waste.

@ Fairlane500: Jelly donut and glass of milk served. Gneisenau? Schornhost to you too! As I recall, these were pocket battle cruisers in WW II in the battle of the Atlantic. Eventually sunk by the Royal Navy. More info here. Isn't that a pretty ship?

@ Shadow_Assassin: Holy torque wrench, SA, what are you doing about it?

@ vidioman: Since I didn't get a CBC alert notice about it, I assume it didn't happen. My understanding was that the main event was Thursday. The opposition parties are going to make sure we can have roast pig for Christmas. I expect the Gliberals to wage as dirty a campaign as can be imagined. I hope the opposition can shake off the mud and try a better path.

@ zmveliger: Vote with your feet implies leave the country. However, wiping one's feet on the Gliberals would be good if you were sure you could decontaminate later.

@zelgadis: Stressed whining is heard. The teleport system issues a couple of gasps. Here you are, Ian, I hope it is as you specified. The system was having trouble getting the components from the excited states. You are going blond? Probably a side effect of changing careers. A stress release can be rejuvenating, you know.

@Goldfish4209: Cooled fresh llama milk is served. The autosystem does an in depth telescan and produces a Moose Factory special Hamburger sandwich on a fresh kaiser bun with new dill pickel and a four ounce patty cooked through. There you are, enjoy. Welcome Goldfish!

@Leech10: How does zuke venom behave with glassware that has been properly cleaned in chromic acid? Does the molecular layer of chromium stop the corrosive effect?

@djrules5454_simtropolisedition: Talking is one of the best things we do. Why do people want breadsticks with pizza? All that crust is surely enough carbs for a meal.

Though, even though Johnny Horton said the British wanted to sSink the Bismarck no one knows if it was truly them, or if the ship was scuttled. Alll we know is that only a handful of people know of its true location.

Though that is an impressive ship, I'd have to say I prefer the appearance of the old destroyers, such as the Clemson Class:

@zelgadis: brown hair becomes lighter usually because of the sun... Weird thing at this time of the year!

@Leech10: nice thing to now since a need a supply of hydrogen for my new chair warming technology.

@N_O_Body: corruption... That's something unacceptable but it exists everywhere, since the antiquity, even before... BTW, I wonder how you learned some French. You told me about some wine expeditions but that doesn't seem enough to learn that much.

@ gggg: Duck a l'orange is served with two nicely browned saddles of hare. You have to be careful what you call a bunny. Zegladis will object.

@ zmveliger: In 1950 - 1954 I was exposed to four years of Parisian French in High-school. The grade XII French teacher annoyed me greatly, so I dropped it since she would also teach it in grade XIII. [Yes, in those days, high-school in Ontario took five years if you expected to go to university.] After that, 40 years+ in the work force, some time spent in Montreal on assignments (e.g Expo '67), and exposure to French Opera has done something for my vocabulary, but not for my confidence to carry on a conversation. All fading. My grammar is probably OK, but rusty, and my vocabulary is very selective and small. In 1976 I spent about 10 days on my own in the Languedoc, mostly Bordeaux, for a holiday. One of the things I acquired there was a set of short stories by P. Merim

@N_O_Body: I went on Expo 67 site last summer... Outside a few exceptions (the new pool, the Biosphere museum, the casino), the old deserted structures look like ghosts of distant past... French grammar... where there's more exceptions than anything else. I'm particularly ignorant of French grammar despite that it's my first and everyday language. That doesn't meant my writing and speaking are poor... In fact, I'm reading and writing a lot but I'm using my feeling instead of the rules. For me, that not too rational approach has been successful enough to receive a few awards at school for it and having french writing skill well above average (I even got a job especially because of that). So if you seek someone to help you understand French grammar, forget about me!

BTW, did you have some news of MsD lately? It's been a while since the last time she came here and on her BAT thread. I hope she's OK.

Nothing should happen, as chromium and glass don't have any carbon in them. (at least they shouldn't)

Zuke venom has no acids in it. However, zuke puke is a mixture of zuke venom, water, digestive enzymes, sulfuric acid, and whatever food the zuke recently ate.

Well, what they actually did was go looking for stuff to fix.  I don't doubt that some of it needed to be done, but the fact that you come in for an oil change and they check the spark plugs is strange.
