@djrules5454_simtropolisedition: whew that's a handful to type! 4.gif Thank you so much for the welcome!
@MsD: I will, and thanks again for the invite!
@Voar Tok: Thank you! Before I joined I really enjoyed wandering about the CJs and thought-provoking discussions regarding city design, so it's nice to be able to have a voice to express my thanks. The community seems very welcoming and nice, and Dirk et al keeps everything well-managed, and obviously loves doing this for the love of doing it, which can only strengthen the community and attract good people, in my opinion. So I'm already enjoying myself! 9.gif
@N_O_Body: "Steered" looked funny when I read it, and the more I looked at it I was wondering if my mind was playing tricks on itself... again... 4.gif I did actually grow up on a ranch in a small town in the interior of B.C., but never really had any part of farm work. I was an urban-kid's head stuck in a farm-kid's body. I've been on a horse about three times in my life (those suckers are BIG and scare me! 4.gif ), and after a couple of seasons with my pathetic performance during cattle-driving and branding seasons, I was thankfully allowed to stay home and read, write, whatever... just not get in the way. 43.gif (As I will try to do here until I get a chance to read the logs... and I've noticed one of the ST-upgrade-bunnies had worked in my favour: yesterday there were 161 pages, today it says 108... if I wait to tomorrow I may only have 52...! 4.gif )

Mmm. I'm a hankering for some cinnamon buns.

The BAT is coming along. I'm adding the roof and next up will be the textures and lighting.

One last thing. I need some ideas on what to BAT next. Do to my crappy RAM I can only do mid-rises or smaller. I've just run out of ideas on what to make.

Damn good!:

Do you hear the people sing?

Singing a song of angry men?

It is the music of a people

Who will not be slaves again!

When the beating of your heart

Echoes the beating of the drums

There is a life about to start

When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?

Who will be strong and stand with me?

Beyond the barricade

Is there a world you long to see?

Courfeyrac:

Then join in the fight

That will give you the right to be free!

Do you hear the people sing?

Singing a song of angry men?

It is the music of a people

Who will not be slaves again!

When the beating of your heart

Echoes the beating of the drums

There is a life about to start

When tomorrow comes!

Will you give all you can give

So that our banner may advance

Some will fall and some will live

Will you stand up and take your chance?

The blood of the martyrs

Will water the meadows of France!

Do you hear the people sing?

Singing a song of angry men?

It is the music of a people

Who will not be slaves again!

When the beating of your heart

Echoes the beating of the drums

There is a life about to start

When tomorrow comes!

I have no idea why, but I am inherently drawn to that song. I think I'll use it in my CJ! 9.gif

@vid: WARNING - Overused jokes can lead to brain failure on the part of others. Like me. You're messing with my head!

@Leech10 Oh, yes. I assume the artwork outside belongs to Lauren. Does Lauren do anything besides tank traps?

The KK dragon grabs the light sabre fighters, spanks them and puts them to bed.

@SamFlash Are you going to watch the Tommy Douglas mini-series starting tonight on CBC? My wife is from Regina.

@justanothersim86: A plate of sticky cinnamon buns is served with a glass of chilled llama milk. Glad to hear you are making progress on your BAT. What to BAT next with limited memory? Good question. Instead of residential or office towers, how about some good Hi-Tech low rise laboratories or a Toka-mak power plant. If you are really stuck, how about a CANDU power reactor plant. A nice model of the Pickering plant would be nice. They also have a wind generator (very large) on the same site. The Pickering site has 8 CANDU reactors (700's I think).

@defcon pilot: A fan of Les Mis I see. I saw it three times when it was playing the Royal Alex in T.O. It has certain overtones of La Marseillaise and Va Pensiero (Hebrew slaves chorus in Nabucco). Only one of them became a national anthem. The Toronto Sun reprinted Tommy Douglas' mouseville speech today. I hadn't seen such a revolutionary thing in a long time. Canadians need a wakeup call. We have to do something about those cats.

@sloppet: What's a "perty". I like your new animations, but to make life even weirder, why not change the frame rate on one of them so they get out of sync?

Well, I guess that makes you a sunbird rather than a snowbird. From the trailers and the hype on this show, I think it would be enjoyed by anyone, but especially if you have roots in Saskatchewan.

Well, if I have been utterly confused at any time in my life, this is it.

Last night, following the Navy Ball, while waiting in my car for the defrosters to kick in, my date told me that while I was a great guy, and she really does like me, there is some one she likes more. Though, she then folowed it up with comments about how she can't really be with that person, she is starting to have less feelings towards him, and that when she's around me, she forgets all about him, and that she doesn't want to break up with me.

So in all, I'm just sort of bewildered, and I guess I'm just going to keep taking things as they come.

@N_O_Body: Actually, I haven't seen the musical. The reason I know the song is because I'm in my school's instrumental music program. (It's also known as PIMP [Piedmont Instrumental Music Program], but our conductors prefer we don't use that name for it. 3.gif) I like the music, though.

@SamFlash: Oh, really? I was born in Tokyo and raised in a small fishing town called Choshi for a year and a half. I think my dad was working as either a plasma researcher or an electrician. Hmm... Probably electrician. (But he was a plasma researcher at some point in his life.) Because of housing prices, my parents and I moved to Florida for a few months. I have no idea why we moved away, but we did. We traveled up north by car to Illinois. We lived in an apartment in a town near Chicago for about a year. During that time, my dad was a software engineer for a mainframe computer manufacturer. We moved away from there because of the blizzards. We traveled to the West Coast from there - by car again - and then settled in San Mateo for a year. Finally, we moved out of there because of the price of renting the apartment, and decided to buy a house in San Jose. We moved in and stayed there until I was in third grade. Now, we've settled in the Berryessa district (used to be in Alum Rock). Ah... Actually, it's nicer here than in the other places. Except for one thing: It doesn't snow. OK, so I'm wrong. It does snow, but only during certain years, and at certain times. Like this year. It snowed downtown the other day. 9.gif And the mountains are snowcapped... And there was a relatively thick blanket of the white stuff in San Francisco, too! Who'da thought? 9.gif

@Fairlane500: Well, that sounded... A bit odd. If she doesn't want to break up with you, why mention doing it in the first place?

*The 2 dark zukes get mad and roar at the KK dragon. Do NOT tell them what to do, no matter what. They then split into 4 zukes, go outside again, set up a forcefield, and 2 of them start the lightsaber fight again while the other 2 watch from a safe distance.*

Lauren dropped a blob of swamp on the floor a while back, and it is still there in case you didn't knotice.

*The bill mysteriously moves again and is now on the country of Granar's tab.*

The Terminator: You must be joking.

I've been out of the loop for a while. I was in a competition in downstate New York. I learned two things from my trip.

    1. I will never, ever stay at the Ramada Inn ever again. It is so not worth 89 dollars a night. (Bugs, peeling paint, etc.)

    2. Pricker bushes cacan grow on steep slopes. And if you fall on one of these slopes, the pain is excruciating.

N_O_Body: I was accepted to SUNY Geneseo, and now Rutgers University has also sent me the thick letter. Thanks to my grades, I only have to pay about a quarter of full tuition if I go to Geneseo as well.

Brancra: go to RUTGERS! its so much better than any SUNY campus, ive been to the SUNY Purchase campus, its by me, and its small, and feels like a high school. Rutgers is very nice, and has many great programs, i would suggest the NEWARK campus, its very close to NYC and has tons of amenities, plus youre in the center of Newark, with fine resturants, lots of interesting places, and theres a Newark City Subway stop on campus(washington street).

*NOW!! PUNKFEST 1984/1985 tickets on sale at PASSYUNK TICKETMASTER(6884 Passyunk ave, South Philadelphia PA 19148) Loisadia Ticket Booth (142 Avenue C New York,NY 10009) and Newark Punk Tickets (1576 Mount Prospect Avenue Newark,NJ 07104) the show is free, but to get front row seats, you can buy tickets before Dec. 20th 1984 for only $2! remember, this will be the DEFINITAVE PUNK CONCERT OF THE 1980s! better than punkfest 1977 and punkfest 1969 combined!

@branca:  I'd say that you should go to whatever college you would like to (assuming that they accept you).  I haven't decided which college I'm going to go to, but it will definitely be an engineering college (probably one with ties to the Intel Corp.).

*Three squadrons of Rheinland fighters swarm the fleeing zukes and blast them with green missiles, then head back into space to take on the CS-1s.*

    No offense.

@hym: Hmm. I'm considering either a college with ties to Sony. Or maybe Apple. Yeah, maybe Apple. Ack... I can't decide!

@Fairlane500: Looks encouraging. To paraphrase an adage "Presence is nine points of the law".

@defcon pilot: But that was the whole lyric. Does your choir sing it? As for the name of your group, how about "The Piedmont Pipers and Friends". You could all wear motly instead of suits and dresses.

@TT: You really are irrepressable. Food service edited and completed Enjoy.

@Leech10: The KK dragon retired from the field, unbloodied and unbowed. He considers the source (code).

    What's a "thang"? quote>
It is a thing that girls use to confuse boys. MsD shouldn't mention it directly.

@brancra: If you don't need the financial emollument, I think a smaller school is a better idea. You should give Rutgers serious consideration. After all, if you didn't want to go there, why did you apply there?

@Rymac91 MPCS? You need to join my DAN (Delete Acronyms Now) organization. Elucidate, Oh sage.

Seriously, if you want to apply to a college affiliated with Apple, then that's probably where you should be.  I personally have no use for Apple, but that's just my personal bias.

And after promising to stay quiet while I had a chance to read stuff over... 43.gif

@Fairlane500: I agree whole-heartedly with N_O_Body's legal opinion and MsD's gender-perspective... but may I add that it's ultimately really out of your hands, and I think you should try not to stress yourself too much over it. (I know, easier said than done!) You can't make her want you over the other fella (assuming that's what you want), so you're kind of tilting at windmills, if you don't mind the expression. My personal passerby-guy opinion is to keep on keeping on, be yourself, and give her the time and space to make up her own mind as to what she wants, without pressure. She might be unconsciously looking for you to put pressure on her and cause some sort of drama, thus making the decision "justifiable" in her mind...

@TheTerminator: Can't say I got all the in-jokes in that post (does vidioman do music?), I still wish that last mail-order flux-limiter would come in for the time machine I'm building in the garage, because I'd love to see DK, Clash, Iggy, Lou in '85. Saw Jello Biafra on tv with the Melvins a few weeks ago with Nardwuar... the boys are looking rough here in the 21st century...

Apologies, don't know what came over me... adjusting light above and returning to my monster Moose readings...

Oh yeah, I forgot to add...

@N_O_Body: That would be a nice name, if it weren't that our school were so influenced by "pop culture". In schools around here, the new fad is "be ignorant and disrespectful". Which is why our instrumental groups are called the "band geeks" and the "orcha-dorks". B@$+@&ds. OK, I admit, I myself can be pretty rude (like I just was), but still. And also, what's "motly"? I can't find it in the dictionary, although I gather that it's a style of clothing. We do wear suits and the like, although we put on our music T-shirts when it comes time for the POPS concert (the one with the unspeakable names I mentioned above).

@Shizu00: Agreed. Be yourself. Except in my case... Being me isn't the best thing to do if I want to attract females. But I could be wrong... I know this girl who I think might "like" me... A little. We talk quite often, and I give her homework help. But meh, I dunno.
