Cool, Truckin_Papa! My grandfather was a truck driver. And when I go on road trips, I get a huge kick out of checking out all the trucks. I like the design of the new Volvos a lot.

My mother, at 59, still likes to hang out the window and do the horn gesture. 17.gif

Anyway, extra thick chocolate milkshake with whipped cream.

I'm all giddy over my interview on Tuesday. Can't wait!

I just wore myself out in forum games too. Haven't been in there for a few weeks, so I guess it all came out at once.

Congrats to gggg on starting page 69

@ACEfanatic: Warm and melting here too. Sorry to hear about your friend. How old was he?

@ Fairlane500: Hi, welcome back, long time no see. If your old teacher really has ALS it will be a long, downward row to hoe. He needs all the support you guys can give him. If you want to get a perspective on this there is a book titled Tuesdays with Morrie that you should be able to find in your library. With the exception of Steven Hawking, people with ALS make me very sad.

@ Truckin_Papa: You sure got that signature right. Now you need an avatar that represents you. If you have a picture that you would like made into an avatar, PM me, and I'll send you my e-mail address so we can pass files.

@ zelgadis: Tomorrow! Give them your best shot!

@gggg: A serving of fried beaver tails arrives Natural Canadian foods, eh? How about some nice walrus or whale blubber? A nice slice of polar bear? Would you settle for some of that nice bread you've been eating at home made from Canadian-developed Triticale Wheat.

gggg: Here is the recipe for beaver tails.

The beaver, castor canadensis, is the national animal of Canada and are protected. You didn't think we'd really cut off thier cute little paddles just for you, eh?

And now I'm going to the JMU game!  w00t!  Go Dukes!

Well, how about a weather contest.  Come December 5 (that's the furthest the weather predictions are carried out) we're expecting 70-80 F. weather.  That said, I'll take something cold to drink.  Actually, I've heard people say that the long range forecasts are expecting shorts weather throughout December.

@vid: Good you keep your video. How come? Doesn't the upstairs service include yours? The most important thing about winter rain is you don't have to shovel it.

    quote>

Shaw Cable doesnt like it when you connect two units with one line. They also dont like it if you ask for service, or help or anything. What they do like is sucking. They suck alot. 44.gif Our landlady said she just had one connection for the cable, but she actually was paying for two. She just didnt want to admit it. Kinda weird, but nice of her to go through the trouble. She had the cable connected through her because students usually rented this apartment, and they can't afford cable sometimes so it was nice of her. She was really nice.

Yeah, no shovelling is an upside to rain. But as soon as it dips below freezing, we're gonne be covered in an inch of ice. According to lycos.com, we're getting sprinkles right now!

^ Vid, I know what you mean about Shaw. They put in alll these splitters and now can't tell which ones are live.

You should try these guys for weather info. Better than Lycos, and gives the 'cast in metric.

Yeah, they charge too much too. And their community channel sucks. Lickily, our local city-run phone company has a licence to run a cable service next year, they're offer both dial-up services and cable services, so we'll have a choice of regualr phone and cable phone in the enar future, from the same company. shaw doesnt have that 2.gif

They're also putting in channels from Minnesota, whichll be sweet.

And I do use TWN the most. I have forecast fox, which uses accuWeather but it puts metric wind at m/s, which is odd.

N_O_Body: Thanks for the drink.  Let me make sure that I got all of those ingredients right.  This drink has espresso, whey powder, demerara sugar (not quite sure what that is), salt, postassium chloride, Riboflavin (which is good because I tend to get a winter-time ryboflavin deficiency), Niacin, and topped off with whipped cream.  That sounds like a real energy drink!  BTW could the autoserver whip up a few more of those drinks for the admins?  I think that they might need it.

As for my computer, it told me that I random errors in the CMOS section and like normal, it freaked out and wanted to know what to do.  After spending a few hours looking everything over, it appears that something weird and unexplainable happened, but that nothing was actually changed.  So now I'm afraid that my HD is getting ready to visit the digital afterlife.6.gif

ACEfanatic:  Factoring polynomials.  I remember doing that.  Have they taught you the FOIL principle yet?  How many parts where there to the polynomials?  Drat, I'm forgetting what I learned last year in Algebra.

Busy day here... Don't forget... don't touch the place here with the hydrogen femtofusion device. It's my new chair warming technology and it's for MsD.

@Truckin_Papa: old friends... Your both fortunate to have each other. I don't have a lot of friends by I'm doing my best to keep them a long time. I think that it's like very good wine: it gets better with decades. My 3 best friends have been around for 17 years and I just realised that it's more than half my life! My best friend when I was a kid had leukemia and left us for another destination but his dad is a trucker (they're still living in my parents neighborhood). Since the spectacular increase of security at the border, trucking here is much frustrating. Being stuck at the border for several hours is something that do happen and it's giving them headaches (and economical loss). Despite the increasing presence of women in every jobs (I heard that Quebec province is among the leaders in that), I never met a woman driving a truck here. It's one of the last jobn to be conquered by women. I guess that MsD must have quite a spirit to do that for a while.

It seems that you're now a LOL addict! LOL...

@ACEfanatic: to console you, I've seen a lot of post far more worthless than the 11/28/2005 5:22:16 PM  one.

@Compi: family receipe against cold. 2 tblspoon of honey, fresh pressed juice of half a lemon, a shooter of gin (less if you're younger, a few drops is OK then) and you fill the cup with boiling water. The first time I drank alcohol (around 11 and a few drops only), it was drinking that potion. It's important to avoid alcohol until you're fully developed physically since alcohol interfere with growth.

@timotheus4: happy birthday to the cake's target! When I was 16... well forget it. Am I getting old?

@N_O_Body: happy to learn that you'll vote on January the 23th? No, I won't forget political stuff... Je me souviens!

@hym:  Trade ya.   We're getting rained on... hard.  Got out early.  And the river next to my house is about to flood!  45.gif

@Voar Tok:  Well, it's Algebra II, so it's all review, but they're still a pain in the ass... upwards of 3-4 monomials each.

@N_O_Body:  I slept HARD last night...  I actually didn't get home 'til past eleven last night.  JMU game went to double overtime (81-79.  Go DUKES!!!) we went to dinner, then had to take my friend home.  (I hope she didn't get in trouble for being late, lol.31.gif)

    It was worth it though.

And now, in about an hour, I have to go to the orthidontist and explain how I lost half my retainer.  Joy, joy.

    *looks out the window*

Maybe I oughta go get some sandbags...

Odds of going to school tommorow:  5/1

The realtor came buy today. I mean by, he came by. Typo! Anyway, I had some french fries, mom has some french fries, and no one cares about the toilet. A good time was had by all.

I've been up for exactly 24 hours now, and spent almost every moment of it on the computer, while mom either sleeps or cleans. What a good role model I am!!

First round interview went very well, I believe. I felt very relaxed. They're going to call me in a couple of weeks to schedule the second round, which will be sometime before Christmas.

I'll have a prime rib, medium rare, and a mess of greens.

@vid: Well, I am glad to see that the water is flowing off the duck's back, as usual.

@Voar Tok: Autosystem records energy drink as Moose Spit. Available to anyone Hunt around on google You should be able to find a diagnostic system better than the one that comes with XP. If your BIOS is OK, then you can check your disk firmware. You may be able to reload it, or even upgrade it. If the chips are shot, though ... How old is this disk? Does it run 24/7? Can you find out the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) for it?

@zmveliger: You are surely not old enough to remember the conquest. Remember both Wolfe and Montcalm died on the field of battle, so maybe it was a sawoff, of sorts. Peut

No, I live in (well, okay, outside of) Harrisonburg, VA.  In the good ol' Shenadoah Valley.  It's odd... Dry River (100-150 yards, er... meters, from my house) is lapping its banks, while Cooks Creek, which is usually over the roads in heavy rain, is merely swollen.  Which means all the water is coming from the mountains.  Not good.

Anyway, I went to the DMV after my othidontist's appointment, and.... FINALLY GOT MY LEARNER'S!!!! 39.gif  Have fear, Virginia.  I can drive!  *dances*

Serving poutine to Russian people might be misinterpreted... So gggg, here is a  link to Wikipedia's page about poutine (the meal).

I had a huge surprise going there since the picture shows a poutine coming from Chez Ashton restaurant. It's especially renowned for that but very local (less than 15 restaurants in a 60 kms radius). The first and original restaurant has been opened in the 60s less than 1 km from my parent's home. It's still there.

So I can tell that I'm from Poutineland but I don't really like that fatty stuff. I put it in the same category than raw beluga whale skin.

Je me souviens that Canada was a place to send illegitimate children, criminals, very poor people...

I'm sending flowers to MsD. It's my favorite one but NOT for political reasons (it's the floral emblem of Quebec province). Iris versicolor is simply among the most beautiful ones.
