Fosterk, that stinks that the LODs are giving you problems. That model looks so good with a round shaft.
 
Here's a small update. I made an alternate version of Opticity Insurance. This one includes reflective gold windows and underground parking.

Well, I did actually get the thing fised now, with a fair bit of help from DuskTrooper, He took one look and said Cam_light_rig error, so i got it fised with a simple remecy, and voila, worked a charm!

Secondly, I got Some nigthlights for it, im going to go with blue, as thats what octopus7 wants, and to be fair, it is his models, so why not, I like it anyway...

ODM: nice updates there.  I love your concept of underground parking, very mars-like.  Anyway, are those props or part of the bat?
 
Kev: very cool lighting! i always wanted those type of neon lights.. ^_^ It kinda reminds of those erie alien movies.  Btw, are you planning on adding props for the lot?
 
(a bit off topic) The Transpo Team: how are the roads comming along?  I haven't seen any updates so far...  I hope somebody's still working on it...

The underground parking is part of the BAT but it could easily be turned into a prop for other buildings.

I have had some time today so here's what I have been working on. It's going to be a large agricultural center. I plan on making several more different buildings that can be put together on the LE.

Wow, those are some pretty good-looking Ag Domes ODM. I believe that these are the first developments on the ag industrial front so I am definitely looking forward to more of these. (that is, if you plan to build more)

I also see that the blue antenna is being reused. Excellent

the grand museum main building is nearly complete, just got to fix up some textures that went awry, cause i copied and pasted uvw modifiers, won't do that again!, those ag domes look great!

Octo, try adding some roof vents, and other junk around the circular roof window, and may I suggest making the window arched, or domed?
Other then that, its great!

My life has been really busy lately but I had some time this weekend at the airport (business trip) so I have been working on this. \

I think it is going to be called HexiCom, a regional communications company. It still has a ways to go before being done. I am planning on adding some more stuff on the roof, a logo to the top, and a base of some sorts. Suggestions anyone?

great design clayton, i'd go for a really ultra modern glass lobby for that one, like the ones on a lot of modern office blocks that are about 4 stories high, with internal gardens, water features, but the only problem with plants, is that they drive poly-counts through the roof!, keep up the good work

Here's an update of what I have been working on. This is based on one of the designs in Boris' thread. It's going to have one more level beyond the two that are shown right now. It still has a ways to go but it is coming together pretty quickly.

Ahhh, I see which one you're working on. By the looks, it will look quite grand when it is finished...in a utilitarian kind of way. I love the textures you are using! 4.gif

What is going on with Hexicom? I like how that started out, and agree with Octo on the lobby...

I should be studying for my test tomorrow but instead I have made some more progress on the building.

I am deviating a little bit from Boris' design but I like it better this way3.gif It has been a really fun design to work with. I was thinking it would fit in the utilitarian catigory as well.
 
 
Hexicom is kinda on hold right now. I am having a hard time getting the textures right. That and I haven't figured out what to do with the bottom. I'll pick it back up once I finish with the building.

Thanks for the positive feedback Racco and Stevens! I am planning on making this an office building. I haven't totally decided if it's going to be $$ or $$$. Any thoughts?
 
here's an update of what I have been up to. I decided to add some roof stuff and here is how it turned out.

I like it better with the junk so I think I am going to keep it. The model is pretty much done except lighting but I think I am going to have to do that on my other computer. I can't seem to get the nitelites to work with GMAX. Nothing will show up in the render. Here's a couple more pics of the building. I may not be able to get around to rendering for a few days so comments are still welcome

I have been on a business trip the past couple of days and I had some time to kill so I started this project. It's based on another one of Boris' designs. I'll post some better pictures once I have them.

looking great mate, i'm going to do some more of my mining lots which will be
1 - ore crushing plant
2 - vehicle pit - entry point for drilling rigs & diggers
3 - smelting facility
4 - driller maitanence workshop
plus i also have to do, the broken staircase and a residential tower (boris's designs) and eventually the other 2 police stations ans i have only done the kiosk!

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the police stations. I loved the way the kiosk turned out. More mining lots will be great too. You should creat a huge industrial plop lot out of all the mining stuff when your done. 3.gif

ODM: i'd love to do a huge industrial ploppable of all the mining stuff it'd be at least a 20x20!!!, but i'd need someone to make it into a ploppable with about 3-4000 I$ jobs! anyway heres a pic of the smelting plant i've nearly finished, it will probably be the tallest of the mining lots

now that has me thinking!!!! about other big industries, since i joined the project i wanted to do a massive ship building yard, making something like a federation cruiser or the ncc1701 enterprise type ship, or even a chemical refining lot using multiple bats, cause even as props, buildings will still light up and act as normal bats, but one trouble with massive lots, they could be massive memory hogs, i have 512mb p4 2.4ghz and my computer dies in the bum while playing SC4, anyway heres a pic of the finished smelter and my other mining stuff

Oct, I actually started playing around with ultor on a bigger lot (8X8) but I haven't gotten around to making all the props that it would take to make it look like a realistic shipyard.

In order to make it look more like a real shipyard I think it needs:
- 2 Cranes to move material from the site to the construction area
- couple of small warehouses (1x1 or 1x2) for storage of sensitive parts
- a small administrative office
- misc parts like pipes, pieces of the hull etc.
- maybe a new gate entrance???
The props in the pictures and just props I already had just to play around. I think some are Maxis props and the others might be BSC. I have a few projects I need to finish up before I can get started on this so any volunteers 42.gif

i'll see what i can do, i'm sure i'll be able to make some type of large mobile crane structure, and some misc props, ie crates, barrels and hull plating, etc, looks great what you've done so far, once the lots done, you'll just need someone to make it into an industrial ploppable
