    Looking pretty good.

If I was you I will try something smaller to import from AutoCAD the first time. The yellow ornament add that in gmax with the help of textures.

Looking forward to hear about your experiences with AutoCAD/gmax as I pretty good with AutoCAD, but haven't really tried out gmax yet.

So, if you do the building in AutoCad, will you then import the DXF file into gmax?  I have tried something along the same lines with the CAD program I use at work.  I can export to DXF and then import the file into gmax, but haven't been succesful yet.  Let me know how it comes out.  I would really rather work in my CAD program from work.

Hey this sounds like a good idea you got here, there may be a slight chance I can bat after all, since I can use Autocad.  I'm in an architecture class right now in high school, and I'm using AutoCad 2002.  I should be able to get a copy on my computer soon, so mabey I'll try some batting?

You can export to 3ds. It's found in the file menu.

The dxf format (drawing export format) is more for export to other CAD programs.

1ajs - Yes, I work in CAD all day long.  I am a Design Engineer in the Packaging Industry.  The program I use is called Score3D and it draws in the Vellum format.  The program itself is designed for our industry.

Looking really good! As for roof textures, depends what you've got in mind for the look of the roof. Let me know and I'll see if I can rummage through something44.gif

EDIT: below are a couple of concrete textures as requested that could either stretch or tile to suit and could be changed to any colour you choose. I don't really BAT building with flat roofs, so I don't have a huge selection....

Man, I use AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2i for 3D drawings, but I never knew we could export files into a format that works with GMAX. I'm glad I found this thread!
