Hi everyone, I have a little problem, I updated my NAM to the latest update but I discovered a problem with the textures of my rails in my cities.

Here are some pictures

When I zoom in, the classic rail textures change and become brown and weird. I know it's NAM and I know these are the basic NAM textures. But they're not everywhere and I especially don't like them... how do I remove them everywhere please?

Long and short, you can't remove the new rail textures they are the default rail textures in NAM now. Also, changes to the rail specifications mean that certain setups can no longer be made the same. You'd need to do some clicking around/minor rebuilding to convert a non-RRW built city. But it's really not so tough, I went through it myself as an example:

If you don't like the new texture style, it's never been more flexible or easy to find alternatives, thanks to the RRW Reskin project:

However, the original Maxis textures are gone and will not be coming back. Despite how much people love them/hate change, they are in reality janky as heck and the changes made (in RRW) fix a lot of problems to allow the creation of more realistic railways as a result.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

NAM 36 was the last version where RRW was optional, I believe NAM lite also keeps the originals too, but both options are incredibly restricting for all NAM networks/content. Plus we only redistribute the latest version, so if you don't have an old version, we can't help there.

I'll also add, refusing RRW means no NAM 50 also, knowing whats going on behind the scenes, NAM 50 is the start of a totally new future. Honestly, you'll give all that up, just to keep the original Maxis rail textures? When there are literally at least 20 pre-made alternate choices to choose from and the possibility of infinite variations using automation, you literally need three base textures and everything else is done for you? Your choice, but I couldn't recommend it.

The problem is that some of my favorite stations use the maximum textures, plus my rails are often in a dense urban environment and I can't rework the paths.

Most stations use lotted railway tracks, i.e. not baked into the model, for those it's quite easy to either change the lot texture in use or create an override that handles it automatically for commonly used textures. This is built into the RRW Reskin, but requires an extra download for the default textures:

As for the dense urban environment, provided you can accept you can't build new rail setups like that, using this recent mod would at least make all the legacy textures match:
