Has anyone created a SimCity 4 Region that's one large tile? the entire region is 1 tile?

I sure would love to play that.

Myself. The plus is you don't need to switch to other cities at any given time. You can simply grow your region like well, playing a single tile. Not to mention that you won't get disgusting bugs regarding neighbors like commuting, neighbor deals, etc. The cons are you're limited to a single tile, which means you have to grow your tile to an insane level, like millions of populations within a single tile. Another is you can't really isolate pollution since well, you're playing on the same tile as your industries etc.

Not forgetting that SC4 plays best when you expand to a larger region. With an isolated city you won’t get additional extrapolated demand and it makes growing beyond a point much harder.

That said, I can easily send the files for a single flat tile if that what you want.

Here is a single large tile as a region, just place the folder inside the zip file into your Regions folder to install it.

When you peek inside the Singleton.zip file you should see a folder named Singleton. Yes?

Copy that folder into your regions folder. Then peek inside of it. Does it look like this:

^ Note: I duplicated the folder structure on my E: drive to make a much cleaner picture. Yours will likely be on C: drive and your user name prolly won't be Cori. *;)

Have you? It's actually 4 x 4 pixels (16 total) which are all blue:

That's true for city tiles which have been created either by the player, a grayscale render, or via Mapper or Terraformer creation. However, when it is only the config.bmp defining the size, there won't be one until you load the region, open the single large city tile, and then save it.

Here we see opening the region in the game:

    ^ I checked this before I replied previously. *;)
