Minor graphics issue, missing map parts in region view

Hi all. Hope you're doing well.

I've been having a little graphical issue for quite a while now. As it isn't too game breaking I never looked into it but maybe one of you have seen this and has a solution.

In the region view the lower quarter of  each city tile is not displayed properly (see screen (the jpg is bigger in file-size than the png, so png it is....)). It displays trees and buildings properly. just not the terrain.

While on Manjaro Linux atm, I had the same thing on Win7 while using my old PC. Which makes me assume that it is a settings issue. Aside from NAM I only use Lots and the opera house fix.

Has anyone had this issue?

Thank you very much for your time

I have had this happen as well, it had to do with the resolution being in 2k and not 1080p when I was saving the region. Only after I changed the graphics back to 1080p and saved it would the tile go back to normal. Hope this helps you

    Ahh. Resolution. OK. Thank you.

I'll leave it until I need to make nice screenshots then :)

DirectX 7, upon which SC4 was developed, has a hard limit of x1200 for resolutions. Using a DX Wrapper, we can now run the game at higher resolutions. However when doing so, the game is not able to render the region view screenshot beyond that 1200 pixel limit, the remainder looks blue/black.

Now consider that your monitor likely looks its best and sharpest only when using its native or full resolution. If you switch to 1080p then the image quality is distorted. What I do is run the game at 2K resolution and use Shift + Alt + S to save my game, without updating the screenshot (region view). Then periodically I switch the game into 1080p temporarily when I want to update the region view. It’s a bit of a pain, but better IMO than running the game in a lower resolution.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
