Phantom dialog during saving

Hello,

I'm not talking about phantom dialog occuring during both Save and Exits. I'm talking about phantom dialog "popping up" during normal saving process. Unfortunately, I don't have any videos but it happened to me multiple times. It happens when I hit Ctrl+S, then game pauses, and coincidentally, a popup news dialog "shown" to the screen. The entire screen except the invisible "window" and its content is blocked and produce a "nope" sound when clicked. For those who are uninitated and even myself during the first occurence of this bug, they'd think the game is freezing. It's not. I never encountered a very long freeze except in only one scenario, manually rendering a grayscale image. Most freezes are short and if it's game ending, it'd just CTD a sec later or just instantly. The saving process is also blocked until I hit the invisible "OK" button. And then, the city can be safely saved and the game can be played normally. Anyone have experienced this? Let me know.

The game often freezes while saving. But since the ok button does not appear, I cannot save the city. I have to close the SC4 process through the task manager. I wish the game would save normally. Tell me how to save the city during a freeze (where is your invisible ok button and how to press it?).

I have been playing SC4 a long time and never once have I personally encountered this problem. What does this tell us, most likely this behaviour is the result of some mod in your Plugins that can trigger this dialog.

Simple test, start a new city in a new region without any mods installed (move your Plugins folder’s contents temporarily). If the game is saving now without issue, then you need to start digging through your mods to find the culprit.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Popup advice dialogs are often in the center and the OK button is usually on the right corner of the dialog. If you're experienced enough with those, you can "feel" where the button should be. The problem is, you still need to do the good ol' tried and true method of, just clicking random things on the screen. The "nope" sound is a hint you can use.
