"Let us be scientists and as such, remember always that the purpose of politics
is not freedom, nor authority, nor is any principle of abstract character,
but it is to meet the social needs of man and the development of the society"

Alright, gonna explain what I'm doing with that automata controller.

As part of my research for the Traffic Simulator development and the early prototype work for the Pedestrian Revolution Mod, there's two tweaks I'm trying out for the automata controller:

  • Increasing the appearance rate of pedestrians
  • Lengthening traffic signal cycle durations to ensure pedestrians can actually make it across intersection and mid-block crosswalks

This specific automata controller is a derivative of the 24-hour radical persistent variant, which also gives it the following properties:

  • Traffic volume fluctuates over the duration of the day (24-hour)
  • Higher appearance rate of automata props (radical)
  • Higher duration of automata before vanishing (persistent)

Thank you @fribajsaren for asking! I do hope this encourages players to try it out, I'd like some feedback, which could be used to fine-tune a revision of the other automata controllers.

As far as automata persistency goes, I also really like this tweak:

It is very persistent and well-built. Especially helpful if one posts and processes lots of screenshots and would like to avoid tons of "ghost cars" in their pics. *

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.

My city journals! *:read:
- SimCity: Tribalism - seven urbanization concepts clashed together
Saving Magnasanti... - the most depressing city in history being revitalized

Also worth checking...
- "TMC's Drawing Board" - my city designs and plans.
