Good evening, a few moments ago I have a problem with my game [SimCity 4].

My monitor [LG Flatron E1951] only supports maximum resolutions of 1366x768, so since the game looked horrible at 800x600 I wanted to set it to the maximum resolution that the game allows [1600x1200] and the screen went black with the message ''Signal out of range'' and from there I have not been able to change the resolution, I have tried several things but nothing, I need help!

^_^

If there's nothing else done, just shut off the PC and turn it on again. And once boot, insert this to your SC4 shortcut

Quote

-CustomResolution:enabled -r1366x768x32

Hope it helps!

You can run a game in a resolution your hardware can not display. But SC4 supports a lot of resolutions and is pretty flexible. If 1366x768 doesn’t work you can try 1280x768 which is more standard and pretty close to your display.

As mentioned you need to add a command to invoke a different resolution without entering the game. This can be done through the shortcut or within whatever app launches the game for example if playing through Steam.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Thanks for your help, but where do I put the command in the SC4 shortcut?

    CMA_Shortcut.jpg

It goes at the end of the target line, as shown here.

Note if you have not already done so, you should also add a few other commands. Each command must begin with a hyphen and there must be a space before that.

So you probably want to try

    -CPUCount:1 -intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r1366x768x32

The first command is needed to prevent the game crashing on modern computers, the second helps the game start faster and the third and fourth set the resolution.

All the commands go in Target or in Comment?

All go into the target line, after whatever already exists there, don’t forget to add a space to the end, otherwise you can copy/paste the commands I gave you as-is into that box.
