Forced Avatar?

Why was I forced to have any Avatar to logon?

Also, I submitted an image for conversion, and it truncated my HMG42.  I have heard of sawed off shoot guns, but never a sawed off heavy machine gun.  But who knows, maybe Simtropolis is on to something.  Maybe over the last 50M it would be more effective than claymores.

Hi Mark,

Apologies about this, it was totally my fault.

I've been investigating methods to combat spam bots from registering and editing their profile fields with advertising links, etc. Then after finding a solution which ought to help with this, I recently stumbled across an admin setting to require an avatar for 100% profile completion.

As follows:

 

I've now set it back, whereas the Avatar field had this checkmark previously (as per the above pic).
I didn't expect it'd apply to existing members like yourself who already had an avatar, so that was totally unintended. This shouldn't happen again now.

Below I've attached the existing avatar you had for the letter M if wanting to add it back, but it's your choice if you'd prefer the heavy machine gun instead.

This post here I made a while ago shows how to do it. The option is available on your profile page on the existing image. So after downloading the M image from my post above, this can then be uploaded as the new avatar. Before uploading it could be renamed to something simple like: BigM.png

Let me know otherwise as I can do this for you.
