Playing SC4 on a new Mac

is there anyway to play SimCity 4 on my Mac with mods with the latest operating system??

The drawback to the Mac version of the game is that it doesn't have all the patches in it. Some Mac peeps use Parallels or Boot Camp or something to then install Gog's Windoze version of the game.

I don't have a Mac so I'm only generalizing what I've read on site before.
