@Ct1999 Did you make sure to select HD preset in both 3dsmax and gmax-BAT ?

I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

No worries, this is something I think we all go through, it's very complicated stuff.

What software are you using to make your model?, are you only using SC4BAT or are you also using 3DS Max as well?

For this to work, you must have the special 'HD Export' scripts for SC4BAT, then you need to select this option before you render:

    SC4BAT_HDExp.jpg.1d894848197e6902a412e996d69e891d.jpg3DSMax_HDExp.jpg.e4fe69c46a4dcda4b74bba4ea8fce74f.jpg

If you make the model in 3DS Max (using BAT4Max), the option there must match that of SC4 BAT, or the model (LODs) will be the incorrect size for the textures.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

@rsc204 I try to find the script you mentioned from a lot of sources, either the web site is not longer available or the link is not available. If you have a spare one or another available for sources me. I will really appreciate it.

So first things first, are you using 3DS Max or not? It's quite important, because I believe BAT4Max includes/installs the HD scripts in that scenario for SC4BAT.

However, if you are ONLY using SC4BAT, then this is the file you need:

    GMAX_BAT_scripts (HD RENDER).zip

Note: Uploaded because frankly, I can't find it online either, I'm sure this was somewhere on SC4D, but Google is not helping.

Try exporting the LOD from Gmax again.

If that doesn't work, try changing the shape of the LOD, so that it is not exactly the same as it was before. Certain LOD shapes cause problems when exporting. We don't know why.

This is not a bad problem though, because it gives you more time to work on your BAT.

All of your materials, except for glass, and other transparent materials, should have "Ambient Occlusion" turned on. Set "Max Distance" to 4.0m.

This is an example of a basic material, which is good for materials which are on buildings, like brick and stone.

This is the difference between having Ambient Occlusion on and off.

Thank @Jasoncw for your instructions and assistant. Actually, I figured it out what is exactly going on with my problem. Is because it is ireader its display perspective. When I put my building in lot editor everything just work fine.

When I put my first testing building in to the game. I realized the scale of building is to small , so that I have to upscale a bit and re-rendering the whole building again. So.... This will take some time to complete.....

Your version of the Oi Kwan Hotel from Guangzhou is coming along beautifully, and the night lights from the other thread are stunning.

You might consider expressing the lintels and corbels over the stylized shouldered arches, particularly along the arches of the arcade at street level.  The current masonry texture works for most parts of the building, but, above the larger arches, it loses the appearance of heavy materiality as it lost the visual arch supports.

    8I0cCml.jpg

They are fairly flat and so the effect will be very subtle, but I think alongside a bit of weathering it will really add to the authentic historical grandeur of the building.

Interestingly, in modern buildings where the exterior is just hung cladding or veneers we often no longer bother with lintels or keystones and just use a metal holding strip or reinforcement to catch the bottom under hung masonry runs, creating the same effect over openings as seen in your previews.  However, in older buildings keeping to historicist styles they will have diligently maintained or emulated older construction techniques, including lintels and keystones.

I can't wait to see this one finished!

Impressive works. Glad to see someone could make BATs of those unique Chinese buildings.
