Continuous sidewalks

Hello,

is there any way to enable sidewalks all along the networks? I have tried MGB - No Grass NAM, but it doesn't add sidewalk, it only replaces grass textures making sidewalks square as game tiles. I need these gaps filled in places where I can't put buildings or parks next to network.

Thanks for any help

If you had the space available, you could try zoning along the networks while holding CTRL down. This will 'hide' the zones but display sidewalks. Probably won't be effective in all situations (across multiple networks), but might help in some.

Typically sidewalks only appear when networks are zoned, this is kind of how the game works, so as mentioned you can use the fake-zoning trick to work around that.

It is technically possible to "bake-in" sidewalk textures, such that they would appear regardless of zoning, however this would require creating a custom texture for every network piece you wanted to behave this way, no small job that.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Good tip on the invisible zoning for side walks from @CaptCity.

I've noticed that Parks and Plazas have their own wealthing of sidewalks, too.  Small Park Green and Grass plops produce different types of sidewalks on adjacent grid squares, so you can try both to see which sidewalks blends better.

If the monthly budget for City Beautification is running too high, you can just plop all the Parks you want, and reduce maintenance costs using the slider in the Monthly Expenses budget.
