SimCity | Simtropolis Facebook Group

I hesitated even creating this topic and I’m not sure if it’s the right place for it.  But is there any interest among Simtropolis members about creating a SimCity/Simtropolis Facebook group?

Here’s why I ask.

There is currently a SimCity 4 Facebook group.  It’s public and when I first joined a couple years ago it was nice.  Mostly just people sharing photos of their cities and asking for help.  But recently it’s gotten awful.  It’s loaded with spam, especially spam videos.  And many posts are people simply asking for free (illegal) game copies, CD IDs, fully built out cities, etc.

Is there any appetite for a private SimCity group basically moderated by a few members here?  I’ll even volunteer myself.

Our moderators here are already amazing and busy, hence me thinking about this for the last month or so because I’d hate to ask them...but today I just had enough lol.

Yes, ours moderators are the best! 

But, I asked to me: if the community works well here (and others places like sc4devotion and discord), what advantage to create a facebook group?

Some people like following their interests in Facebook groups.  Hence the reason there is already a large SC4 group.  There are Cities:Skylines groups with over 20,000 members...not everyone hangs out here and on SC4D.  If anything most members of the current FB group have never even heard of Simtropolis.  I’m constantly pointing people looking for stuff here.

I’m not interested in moving the Simtropolis discussion to Facebook...I just want the good people of Simtropolis to gatekeep so to speak.
