NAM Causing Game to Crash to Desktop

Hoping someone can help me with getting NAM to work on my digital copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe I bought from GOG.com. I was able to install the mod (and the 4gb patch - *I think*), but when I start up the game and try to open one of my cities, it crashes to desktop while loading every time. I know this is super vague, but I really have no idea what's going on. I had slightly more success the first time I installed the mod, but I had this issue with a red cursor that didn't allow me to place non-ploppable NAM features, so I deleted the NAM files, reinstalled, and now this is where I'm at, unable to play the game period.

Has anyone had this problem and know of a solution? Maybe I'm just a knobhead and failed to install it correctly. Please let me know!

The red cursor is a sign that the NAM's RULs (the SC4-specific code that controls the placement of transit network items) are either not installed, or are being overridden by another copy of the same RUL file that is later in the load order in your Plugins folder.  The NAM's RULs are contained in a file known as the "NAM Controller".

It sounds like on your re-install, you managed to somehow get rid of the conflicting file, because the CTDs are the expected behavior when trying to run the game with the NAM 37 version of the NAM Controller without the 4GB Patch installed.  I would try reinstalling the 4GB Patch--the typical GOG installation folder that would contain SimCity 4.exe is C:\GOG Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps.  If you've patched it correctly, there should also be a file in that same folder called "SimCity 4.exe.Backup" (which is a backup copy of the pre-4GB Patched .exe).
