[Solved] Need help removing a snow terrain mod

At some point in the past I have installed a mod which replaces ploppable Maxis grass, parkland and foliage with snowy versions and I am finding it pretty annoying as it is clashes with most of my other lots. I was wondering if anyone could list a few mods which have this effect or provide a mod which would overwrite the snow one? Thanks in advance

So I was going to run the game without plugins to narrow down what is causing this effect, but without plugins the base terrain of the game is replaced entirely by snow which leads me to believe that I installed a mod which alters the actual data of the game

What is the date of your PC currently? If (for reasons I wouldn't be able to explain), it happens to be the 25th of December, then what you are seeing is a little easter egg Maxis included. If that is so, just change the date to any day other than Christmas and the snow will be gone.

However, it sounds awfully like the Pegasus Snow mod to me. So do check for that, if you have it installed, it does much the same thing.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

I am aware of the easter egg and it certainly is not that, I have already pruned my Plugins folder of snow mods, as I said, even when I boot the game with an empty Plugins folder the issue persists.

Ok, I just solved it myself. For some reason if you have SimCity 4 on steam it pulls resources from 2 plugins folders, one present in documents and one present in your steamapps. I did some digging and found the snow mods I deleted still within the steam plugins folder. I deleted everything from this folder including some other bugged plugins which were causing my game to CTD and sure enough it worked like a charm *:)

All versions of SC4 contain two Plugins and Regions folders, those in the install directory (which happens to be in Steamapps for Steam users), should not really be used for installing custom content. In fact, if you try to use the Regions folder here, not only will the game ignore any maps/savefiles there, but bad things might happen. Whilst the same is not true for the Plugins folder, it's more recommended not to use it unless you really understand how it affects the loading of mods. With one major exception, .dll based mods, of which there are few, really want to be loaded before your other Plugins, to prevent them failing to load properly. As such, it is recommended to put such .dll files into the Plugins folder in the installation directory.
