In the upper right of the Private Message (directly to the right of the message subject title), under Options you can Leave the Conversation to remove it from your messages list.

There's the way CorinaMarie described, but in your inbox each message has a checkbox next to it, and if you select messages (you can select many messages at once this way), a trashcan icon will pop up. There's also a "move" option which lets you move messages to different folders within your inbox.

I don't know how much more plain you can get than clicking on a checkbox, the universal decades old symbol for selecting something, and then clicking on the trashcan icon, the universal decades old symbol for deleting something. But it's definitely the admin's fault that it's not plain enough for you, and you should definitely give them grief about it. :whatevs:

Wasn't aware I was giving anyone grief about anything, except, apparently, you. Delete means delete in my centuries old language, and leave means "i'm leaving" as in "I'm now leaving this conversation."

Can't wait till Simtropolis comes out with a version in plain English.

I don't know how else to interpret this than as snark, complaining about the way the site is. In response to an admin, one of the handful of people responsible for how the site is (not that they'd be able to do anything about this anyway).

Also, the reason it says "Leave Conversation" instead of "Delete" is because the conversation persists after you leave it. Anyone remaining in the conversation can still continue talking and can still invite and remove people from the conversation. Elsewhere on the site it uses the word Delete, but when it does it really means it, the item is actually being deleted. "Leave" is pretty typical language on the internet for leaving something which persists afterwards. You "Leave" discord channels and subreddits and facebook groups.

It's fine to not find the button, and it's fine to ask about it, but when someone takes the time to help you, don't get an attitude about the site (when the site is not even at fault). And especially understand that when you do it's going to rub people the wrong way.

Surprisingly, perhaps, this is something we could change. The board software has a zillion variable names for various language strings and those we do have a tool where we can override what is displayed. Ofc, as you pointed out, it's already perfectly named for the function it performs so it'll stay as-is.

Very pale blue on a white background is how I missed it in the first place. I don't press my nose against the screen when I'm on. And what you call snark, I call thinking out loud. This is the off-topic forums, you know. Sorry if anyone's nose got bent out of shape.
