i reinstalled my game because trees started popping up as brown boxes. now they are doing it on my new install. peg pines and pacific shore pines. if someone could point me in the correct direction. Thanks

Brown boxes always mean you have missing dependencies. Double-check the documentation for the Peg Pines and Pacific Shore Pines you mention, be sure you have all the other files required for those to work.

Reinstalling the game won't fix such issues, since it's your custom mods that are behind the brown boxes. Without an override mod, the base Maxis trees will always exist, therefore will not show brown boxes. However, an override can alter the model that is being linked too, even for previously placed items. If the model (ID) being linked to doesn't exist inside your Plugins folder, those then appear with Brown Boxes.
