Maxis Highway Override and RHW

Now before I begin, Thank You to all the person who helped me figure out how to turn on the Maxis Highway Override (Sorry I don't remember your name).

Now I have watched youtuber Dwyrin's videos on Creating a Metropolis. Obviously he used The Maxis Highway Override, and it was his video in that series where I first saw it in action/ Those of you who commented on my last post would know the video i'm referring to, where he spends most of his time building a highway network. Now I would like to learn how to build highways in the same way he did, but I am not sure where to find all the pieces.

Now I am aware there are plenty of resources on how to do it, but I haven't found any of them to be particularly helpful, so I was wondering if anybody could provide me with a link to a video or a document with pictures on how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Have you simply checked the included NAM Documentation? You will find that installed in Documents\SimCity 4\NAM Auxiliary Files\Documentation.

Your question comes up frequently, how to find things and what pieces are available, the answer is usually the same. NAM and especially the RHW component, has been gradually expanded over many years of development, this means it has become large and somewhat complex. But as ever, the best way to get a handle on where things are and a feel for how they can be used is simply by practise. Opening a new, blank city and going through the various tab rings, will help you to know what exists and where to find it. Building with all those pieces will be helpful too, although there is more too it, because the order in which things are built can impact what works. Likewise, there are limitations with some pieces, things they can't be made to do.

As always, if you have a very specific question, such as "how to make ### type interchange" or "how to place ### piece in this setup", people can give you some specific help. But to get started, a basic familiarity with the options available is really the best first step.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Well I have encountered a slight problem, and it's with interchanges made for 3 lane highways on 2 lane highways, which very obviously look out of place.

You're going to need to expand upon that, since from the limited information given, I'm unable to ascertain the problem. Can you explain which specific piece or pieces do not work as expected?, along with what exactly you want them to do. Often a screenshot helps in such situations too.

Yes, if you still have original Maxis Highway interchanges in place after installing the MHO, you're going to need to replace them with versions that work with the MHO.  The MHO is not designed to work with the original Maxis Highway interchanges, and does not include direct replacements for them (in no small part due to the fact that the MHO and RHW use completely different scaling compared to the original Maxis Highways).
