What are the controls for NAM on a Mac?

I downloaded the NAM mod for my mac about seven months ago and I have never been able to figure out how to place the roads and things. It says to click on it and hit TAB to toggle the different options but this doesn't work for me when I try it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is a link to some tutorials for beginners in my signature, you may find those useful. In addition the NAM comes with a comprehensive readme too.

Generally speaking, most NAM pieces can be found somewhere in the various transit menus. If an icon there has various options, you would use TAB to switch between them, but not all options have this. The options you see will also depend on how much of the NAM you chose to install.

For example, if you have the SAM Streets in your Roads menu, after clicking on this item you can use Tab to select between the 11 SAM sets. After doing so, you plop the "Starter" piece override, then draw through that with the Street tool. There are various starters such as this and the general method for each is very similar if not identical.
