[Solved] Tree controller not changing

I decided i wanted to switch from the Italia River tree controller to the olympic tree controller.

I demolished all trees that i planted with the old one and then switched them but it somehow still places the old trees that i used even in new cities and even though the file isnt even in my plugins anymore.

Can anybody help me out with this? I tried to look for answers but couldnt find anything.

To be sure we are talking about the same controllers would that be these two?

CPT Italia Tree Controller:

02%20cpt%20italia%20tree%20controller.jp

CPT Olympic Coast Tree Controller

03%20cpt%20olympic%20tree%20controller.j

I'd say to start we need to eliminate as many variables as possible. You can rename your Plugins folder to something else then start the game and use the god mode flora brush to plant trees and make sure they are the Maxis trees. Use any random test region for this. (By renaming the Plugins folder that will preserve everything you have in it while causing the game to create a new, empty Plugins folder.)

Ok, good. Now install the tree controller you want into that new, empty plugins folder to be sure it's working as expected.

Now you'll want to move half of your original plugins into the new folder and test again. If you can still plant the expected trees then you know all those are not causing the conflict. If, however, the problem comes back then you know something in that half is the problem. So, if it's all good then move in half more of the remaining plugins. And if it borks the trees, move half of them back to the original plugins. Keep track of which was moved when. By moving half and half and half again one direction or the other you can narrow it down to what is causing the trouble.

Be careful as you do this ofc. Ideally a separate backup copy of your original plugins is a good idea for safety before you begin these tests. *;)
