Hey everyone! I've been releasing items to the steam workshop for a little while now, and I've worked up the audacity to start a showcase thread here. I tend to post things individually rather than in packs, which means I'd be spamming this thread pretty persistently if I commented with each release; so instead I'll try to post occasional updates and WIPs regarding larger projects.

Most of my work so far relates to my "PNW" series of assets, which is basically just a bunch of American style assets with cedar shingle siding, all so that I can build a city based on Oregon's Cannon Beach. I originally commissioned 220Hertz to do some retextures and originals for the project, but he encouraged me to try asset creation myself and I've gradually worked through the learning curve to start getting in a basic rhythm. So far, we've retextured much of 220's East Coast collection and False Lucidity's Americana collection, but I'll focus on my originals here.

All my stuff is available on steam here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Greyflame725/myworkshopfiles

I'm a little embarrassed to say I haven't actually tried the ST Exchange yet. I technically lurked around Simtropolis a bit during the SimCity 4 days but I was way too young to have any sense of modding, so I'm playing a bit of catchup with Cities Skylines now.

Some stuff I've done so far ...

I have quite a few more little wooden shops and homes (shops in particular) to go, but I'm working on some other projects as well, including a set of garden decals that I'm hoping will be generally useful and give people a way to define the shape of yards better without needing to use a bunch of curb props and such. Of course, I mistakenly assumed decals would be *easier* than normal assets. Woops 8U

Feedback is always welcome on any of my work! I'm still very new at modeling so I make really weird mistakes sometimes, and it helps when people point things out, haha. I usually start in Sketchup then move to Blender once I have the shape down, where I basically ... redo the whole thing for better tri optimization, and texture.

decals

If you want to make large decals (or anything other than 8x8m), please use my new script. It removes the need for Decal Prop Fix mod.

Instructions:

Follow the instructions from https://cslmodding.info/mod/decal-prop-fix/

But instead of the script linked in the "Scripts" section, use this script: https://gist.github.com/boformer/624eef5ffc8686cb5f12377f1be855f9

(It's exactly the same, but has 2 extra lines at the end that enable the game to save the decal size and tiling in the .crp file)

Oh, thank you for the heads up boformer! My previous plan was just to make everything exactly 8x8 to avoid any trouble, but your solution sounds a lot more versatile :) (and thank you for the script of course!)
