My fellows!

Seeing that lately all new uploaded buildings on the SimCity 4 EXCHANGE section are only DARK NIGHT version I've been wondering...

What do I have to do if I'm using MAXIS NIGHT version for all my stuff in SimCity 4? Delete all and start all over  from scratch using DARK NIGHT version?

Are we killing the game if now all new things are only available in DARK NIGHT version?

And more importantly, in Sim City4 universe is one or the other but using both versions at the same time won't work. So what to do?

SIMplemente.

The different versions of models only refer to how the textures were rendered. As such all of them will work, regardless of whether or not you have the matching nite mod. However, Dark Nite models look their best when you use SimFox's day n nite mod.

No, I don't think so. As stated these models will still work regardless. Sure I personally feel it best to release a Maxis Nite option when making models. Because it's not a great idea to stop supporting the default game when making content. That said, it's easy to do when the render process takes a short time. Some of the big skyscrapper models can be seriously long to render, possibly stretching to days in some cases. I can understand why some creators who themselves use DarkNite might not feel like rendering a model twice in those circumstances.

Long and short, if a model you like is DarkNite only, you need to decide if you can live with that or not.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
