I loved the look of Paeng's Sandstone Sidewalks, but I don't like the look of the new one. I know it's probably impossible, but is the old version uploaded somewhere? Is it compatible with the newest NAM?

Paeng only ever made one Sandstone sidewalk to my knowledge. The old one (although technically using a default game texture), was made into a sidewalk mod by SMP:

Neither mod is dependant on the NAM itself, although if you want either to appear on the NAM pieces, you will need additional mods. Starting with the Japanese NAM Facelift mod:

For Paeng's Sandstone, I've made a mod (SWN), which will handle adding Paeng's sidewalks to everything else (link in the following post):

But, if you want to use the original SMP sidewalks, you can download the Automated Sidewalk Mod (link in my signature), to create a copy of SWN that will work with any sidewalks.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

rsc204 thanks! But that is also interesting because on one of the uploads for Paeng's sidewalks, it showed in one of the photos "old version" and it was the SMP sidewalks. Now I'm kind of confused.

I personally have been using these two.  The only issue I've found so far is the IR dirt 'sidewalks' seem to be missing, but it's kind of okay, since I like  having the grass (terrain) texture along those networks, too.

Here is a guide to the textures being talked about:

    texture_chart.jpg.790d90202193480a8d787e9322bf9adf.jpg

The first four are those that are included in Paeng's Sandstone Sidewalk Mod.

The "Old" Sandstone texture (Right, top-left half), that is the one used in the SMP Sidewalk Mod. I mentioned before, this texture comes from the base game of SC4 itself, rather than a new custom texture. As such it is featured on Maxis lots and where used by lotters, on custom lots too. Paeng only shows this texture because his mod can optionally override this texture, so his sidewalks show more uniformly. All of this is only related to lots, not the sidewalks shown on transport networks.

So, let's simplify things, in the first instance, decide if you want your sidewalks to show the first four textures (Paeng's Mod), or the Old Sandstone (SMP Mod). Install whichever of the two you prefer, at that point if you are unhappy with it's coverage, then we can help walk you through how to improve it.

Not really possible, because all 4 sidewalk textures are in one DAT, so you must have it installed. Most likely you are overriding this texture, if you have transparency, my guess would be RUM for RRW is the culprit. There is a single file for this "A0_Transparent_Earth.dat", so if you want to see Paeng's Rural Sidewalk, just remove that from your plugins folder.
