I don't use any farm mods whatsoever.

Hello, everyone. I bought Aspyr version of SimCity 4 recently (had the Windows version for 10+ years now).
And I have to say I have no problems whatsoever except the installation of NAM (which I get it to work just fine).

First of all, if you found any weird concepts of my explanation, just to let you know, English is not my first language.

Ok, so I always build my cities using the Natural Growth method. I built a lot of farms. Except recently it comes to my consideration that I have missed something.
Which is this...

Umm... Can you see it? The grassy pasture fields I mean. I don't, because I don't have any of them!
If you don't understand what I mean, well basically Maxis farms you get "Anchors" and "Fields" am I right?

And I seem to be missing one for both, which are
"Field" - Grassy Pasture http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Grassy_Pasture and
"Anchor" - Pedriana Plants http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Pedriana_Plants

What's wrong with that?

This is my entire region. And yes there are no things that I have mentioned.

Here's my mods (I don't think it has something to do with mods)...59ff1d54c731c_ScreenShot2017-11-05at21_16_36.thumb.png.a347dfb191b5f843a10151795a767805.png

Here's my test town... WITHOUT any mods. Still no Greeny Fields, desperate...

Can somebody shed some light for me? Do I need to download something? Is this common (I doubt it)?

Sorry if it seem so nonsense, but I really wants them. Thank you in advanced.

Hiya, Lost-In-Sofia. *:)

First my disclaimer: I know very little about the Mac version. (I have read some of the threads here.)

I love that. (I do the same.)

It does seem unusual that none of the grassy pasture fields have grown. Each farm has a list of textures it will randomly chose from. Two of those are basically dirt. One is a light tan color and one is a darker brown that has the appearance of crops just beginning to grow. From your picture it does appear that is what you have been getting.

You should not need any mod for the grassy one to grow. However, if you would like to test a mod I wrote for my own use, I will attach it at the end of this post. I wrote them as separate .dat files so I'd have the option to remove one or two if I did want some dirt farms to grow.  In these files I simply removed the hex code values which correspond to the fields I did not want to grow so there are 6 files in total. (I did not make one for Pedriana Plants because I wrote a separate mod to totally block that one.)

Now, one thing I'm aware of is the Aspyr version has a limit to the total number of mods it can handle. Therefore, if you like what my No Maxis Dirt Farms does we would want to combine them into a single .dat file for you.

This one is a Stage 3 farm and does not show up until you pass some threshold. If I understand the Demand Simulator: Demand, Supply and CAPs then you need 4100 farm jobs before Pedriana can grow.

Anyhow, here are my mods for no dirt farms if you want to try them. Note: It will not change any farms already grown unless you bulldoze them.

Thank you CorinaMarie for the reply! I seem to have no dirt farms (or less dirt farms something like that) on my PC's version.
Don't know whether the mod's yours too? Because a long time ago, I read somewhere that dirt farmlands occurs much frequent, yes?

By the by, your explanation for Pedriana make sense.
Minutes ago I tried to test it out again. As it turns out, only 1/16th of all of the farmlands is grassy field (green, with no crops).
That's very weird and have never happened before on my Windows version of the game.

    Thanks again!

Edit: Oh my after visiting your profile, you have saved my life many times before by your wonderful tutorials!

I'm going to guess: No. Looking thru my List of Files I've uploaded, I don't see that I ever put this one on the STEX. I believe most peeps download better farms than the Maxis ones so I felt it would be a moot point to toss my little override into the mix since they only work for the default Maxis farms. (It is possible I've attached it to a post here before, but I didn't search to find out.)

You know more about that than me. All I know is I was unhappy with how many dirt farms I was getting so I decided to take matters into my own hands. *;)
