Hi! can anyone help? I had my data backed up! thank God, and my old computer crashed, I was able to copy it to a new computer (windows 10) and put it in the plug-ins folder but it doesn't show up in the game. Am I missing anything?I am not at all tech savvy and so miss playing this game

Where did you put the plug-in folder.  Are you using an admin account or a standard account.  The plugin folder should be under the user\documents\simcity4 path.

I had a similiar issue where I had my plugin folder under my standard account.  When I would run the game, Windows 10 would pop up the UAC, which would then automatically set the config file to use the admin account.  I could not get any of my content to appear in the game unless I put the plugin folder under the admin account.  Not what I wanted.  No matter what I did or tried, it always reverted to using the admin account.  My solution - go back to Windows 7.

Well, anyway, give us some more information (like computer specs, where you copied the plugin folder to, what type of account are you trying to use to run the game, etc...) and we will try to help you.

You mean the folder in Program Files (x86)? This could be your problem, you should move it to the USER plugins folder which is located at Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins.

User Account Control, or Windows Nanny... you see the O/S knows certain areas are for protected files. So if you try to modify anything there, it will simply undo all your changes. Hence why you shouldn't modify the contents of the Programs Files (x86) directory. Actually, that's not entirely correct, some things may need to be modified there, but Windows will fight you every step of the way. UAC is supposed to prompt you when it detects potentially unsafe activity, allowing you to choose if it's OK or not. The idea being, I know I'm doing something = Click OK. Where did this message come from/what is happening = Do NOT click OK. But it all depends on your Windows settings. Windows 10 has made it even harder to force the OS to allow you to change things.

For now however, put the plugins in the right location and all should be fine.
