Disappearing Road Textures/Stop Lines

OK, I have NAM 34 and for some reason, my road textures are all screwed up. After fiddling with them a bit I believe I picked the "Redrawn American Textures" and did not select the cul-de-sac option (which had been giving me much grief until I figured out they were separate options...) but my roads don't have stop lines or pedestrian crossings when they intersect, and when I tried to manually correct that with using the OWL tool to add left hand turn lanes, they often started disappearing when I placed roads nearby, as you can see above (the reason why the box is in the middle of it is because I took a snapshot with Steam, which is the same hotkey tied to bringing up the "save and quit" box). I'm not sure if it's a texture conflict because my plugin folder doesn't have a ton of textures, and the few that are BSP collections (and I'm sure they won't futz up textures to conflict with NAM). Just for full disclosure, here's everything in my plug-in folder.

Volume in drive C has no label.

I don't remember problems like above until I had experimented with NAM 34 after a long break from SC4 that lasted more than a year.

The auto-turning lanes of the NAM are based on RUL. But due to how the game works, when you click a road/street whatever, it refreshes the RUL for a small radius. So if you have turn lanes and use the Street/Road tools nearby, you might have to re-click to get the turning lanes back. This is not a bug.

What you can do though, is switch to the Puzzle-Piece based TuLEPs (Turning Lane Extention Plugin), found near the bottom of the roads menu. Once these pieces are plopped, they will not de-stabilise. But you can't interact (draw new intersections) on the tiles covered by TuLEPs.

As for the main intersection textures, the default Maxis US Road textures have yellow crosswalks. I'm fairly certain the US Cosmetic Retexture mod (NAM Option) does not. So you may want to re-run the NAM installer and remove the retexture mod.

    I could've sworn that the redrawn textures DID have stop lines (much like the turn lane pieces), and I can't imagine that they would go through the whole retexturing process and miss this.

    Sorry, the newer ones simply don't have stop lines. I don't know why, but I have all the NAM textures well organised for making my mods. In the hands of a different creator, there are different styles that get created. Most likely this was just how the person who made them wanted them to be.

    No problems though, at least for the T and + intersections. I've taken some puzzle-piece textures that still have the crosswalks and made an override. In the attached file are two types, one with the newer style white crosswalks, the other with the older Maxis style yellow ones. The texture style will fit with the retexture mod.

    Just load either file (you only need one) after z___NAM - example: z____LoadAfterNAM - Note: That's four underscores you must use. This only covers the Road T and + intersections, but I hope they are what you're after.

    Robin, anyone ever tell you how great you are?

    I've been using the retexture for years. The lack of crosswalks bugged me, but never to the point of trying to ditch it or find a new mod.

    In a single click, it's fixed! Absolutely brilliant.:party:
