I don't play Microsoft train simulator anymore, but my favorite route was the Northeast Corridor. I used to switch to passenger view, while driving with full speed.1.gif

That game would be a lot more fun if the trains didn't randomly derail....

I tried putting it at a reasonable speed in a view from above and behind the engine, to see all the scenery.

However, it's The Terminator's game. I don't have it. I don't think he ever comes into this forum, though...

My favorite is Marias Pass. I just love driving a freight train through the Montana mountains. The scenery is very realistic. You might even see an occasional deer or two. Then you have to blow the whistle so that they run off the rails.  18.gif

The forests are also very real. I love the mountains especially. That whole route is very realistic. I have not played MS Train Simulator in a while. hmm I wonder if I should pull it out. I really want to try MS Train Simulator 2. It looks very cool..

Yeah this game is fun. Its very fun if you like driving very realistic trains. You can drive every kind of train there is almost. You can drive steam trains, to the Amtrak Accela to Freight Trains, Japanese trains, and many more. I might post some screenshots later.

I've seen screenshots of this game, I especially like the Flying Scotsman train, but I've never played it. Is it as good as it looks?

The Tokyo-Hakone route is simply beautiful; I love to sit there for hours and just watch the scenery roll by - even with low-res digitalized textures from the day, it is a beautiful landscape.  By the way, I'm 99% sure Microsoft Train Simulator 2 was cancelled.  7.gif

Personaly I have to go with the freeware Chicago Great Western. One it goes through my hometown and I'm a sucker for midwest railroading.
