I've just started having a strange issue and I wonder if anyone else has encountered it.

When I load the Asset Editor, it loads, but there are no buttons along the bottom, and any asset I load has no concrete or props, and if it's a park asset, it's just a blank patch of ground, nothing else on it.

Anyone else have this?

I recently had a BEX64 crash problem and had to do the 'noWorkshop' thing, then reset my entire configuration and all that. That finally worked and I was able to load the game without crashing. I loaded up a save and it was all fine, but as per resetting my configuration, all my unique buildings were reset. I subbed the 'Unlock All' mod from BloodyPenguin yesterday, but today was the first time I tried to open the game.

When I loaded up the editor and saw the buttons were gone and the asset didn't load right, I thought about the last mods I installed since the last time the editor worked right. The only ones were the 'Prop Line Tool' and the 'Unlock All.' I disabled both, then tried loading up the editor again, but it still has the same problem.

Has this issue happened to anyone else, and if so how did you fix it? Is it linked to any particular mods?

On a possibly related note, the game starts way faster than before. Saves still take forever to load, but it gets through the splash screens in just a few seconds, where before I had the crash problem and had to reset everything, it took a good several minutes to get to the main screen.

I've basically accepted that, on my laptop at least, the Asset Editor is a bit of a POS that only works when I disable all mods. If I run it with mods enabled, it either crashes, hangs, or misses half the UI. If I disable the mods, it works all right-ish, but the loading times are the same as when loading my city (inevitable, as I want to have access to the Workshop props I downloaded), which pretty much puts me off using it much. A shame really because I do enjoy playing with it, but the editor has aggravated me to the point that I've more or less given up on it...

The Asset Editor has always worked great for me, with the exception of always crashing to desktop if I try to 'create new' more than once in a row. Other than that it always works just like it's supposed to. This is a brand new thing for me.

I'm really hoping someone has a solution. I use the editor all the time.
