Hello,

I have recently started downloading mods and moving them into my plugin folder.
I had downloaded about 10 or so and the game worked fine, however after downloading more and more mods I am no longer able to play.
I can load the game, and load my city but whenever i plop anything, the game crashes. Does anyone have an idea why?

Did i download something I should not have? Is it possible to download to much to fast?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Oh, goodness! Days without a reply. :boggle:

Since everything ran fine before you downloaded more stuff I suspect it has to be one (or more) of the newer content causing the crashes. I'm not yet well versed in what works with what, but I've read there are some things that don't play well together. As an example, you can't have two tree mods. Your best bet is to do Granpa Moose's Binary Search for Plugins Conflicts. I don't recall if that suggests moving them all out first or not, but it would be a simple, quick test. Try it with nothing in your Plugins Folder and if it runs fine you know something you got is the culprit. The speed of downloading and number of add-ons prolly isn't the problem itself.

If the binary thinger doesn't solve it for you, you might ask a Mod to move this thread to the SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues forum where it'll get seen.

Good luck.

Yeah, definitely seems like two of your mods are conflicting with one another. Definitely try what was suggested in the above post about doing a binary search for plugins conflicts. It is also recommended to take it easy with your downloading sprees and always test newly-installed mods.

EDIT: Just realized this was posted in the Mac section of the forum. The Aspyr port for SC4 has its quirks and when it was originally re-released in mid-2014, it had a limit on how many files you could have in your plugins folder. I'm not sure if this is still an issue, as I haven't really heard about it lately. It would be nice if another person who actually plays this game on a Mac could shed some light on whether this truly got fixed.

Well I'm no mac user, but indeed whilst it was promised to be fixed in an update, all they did was up the limit it seems.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.
