Strange.  What is the URL?  Did you get all the dependencies and have you still got them?  Looks like something is overriding part of it, so you might have to change the load order to force it back to normal.  (Load order is critical in some cases, and you probably need to understand it.)

The platforms are completely misaligned as well. It seems that the base of the building including the overpass and the platforms got shifted and the top of the clocktower is not a physical part of that model and stayed in place. Or maybe the other way around.

At any rate, I'd suggest removing the lot and re-installing it if for some reason you haven't already. If that doesn't fix it, try clearing out your plugins folder and leaving this lot in there on its own, that way you know whether it's a conflict and we can go from there.

Sorry to bump this thread , I know it's been awhile since it had comments  .

I too am experiencing this same problem .

And I tried what Lost Realist had suggested and it still appears the same . Also in my rail menu another rail station seems to be a ghost , without  icon . I had removed it to test the station the topic is about . It's the Simtropolis Station by Simgoober . Has anybody else had this problem ? If so , was it able to be fixed ? Is it a conflict with another building/lot ? If so , which one ?

I'm going to try and fix it with Lot Editor and see if that will work . If it does I'll post here what I come up with .

Fixing it should be as simple as opening the lot and moving the displaced props into the correct position.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

The Props are good , it is the model/building that isn't where it belongs . I fixed it in Lot Editor , but the "save" would not overwrite the original . I had to "save as" a Re-Lot .

Yes , re-downloading didn't make a difference . Though using the lots on a guest account ,with a no extra plugins . The lots looked and worked the way they should . But as I added other plugins , I narrowed it down to the NAM35 or RUM for RRW .

I ended up re-lotting it with the Maxis Lot Editor . My re-lot works fine and the original is still wonky . I tried to overwrite the original with no success . After evaluating the original closely in Lot Editor , I noticed the rail textures are different than originally lotted (before Maxis , now RRW). I just have two train stations I can't use in my Rail Menu and if I remove the original lots from my plugins , my re-lots then turn wonky . IDK ?

I Don't know that it makes a difference or not , but when I was using NAM32 all was good . I don't remember if NAM32 had RRW option , and if it did , I wasn't using it yet . I had recently installed NAM35 W/RRW and RUM for RRW .

I haven't tested the other Simgoober Rail Stations yet , but I did test the SG Freight Rail Stations and they are fine , other than having NCD Textures still . There are only a couple other SG Passenger Stations and I am going to check them out as well .

Any more suggestions/ideas are welcome , thanks for the responses .

Having thought about it, I think I know what the problem is here...

I seem to recall someone else with the similar problems a while back. This station is one of the SLURP'd ones, which updates the transit switches for supported installed stations, when you install the NAM.

So more than likely, you'll find the problem file is located under z___NAM\MTA Station Overrides\Rail Stations\SimGoober. Because this file overrides the original, most likely that explains why you couldn't use Save in the LE. In one instance, the NAM override had altered the placement of the main building (which should be a prop), by converting the model to a building. Anyhow, I've fixed it up and attached a copy of it that here. Over-write the lot in the folder I mentioned before with the attached one.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not install this fix if you are not experiencing problems, it doesn't cover everyone's setup. The original lot / files by SimGoober are still required for this to work.

Standard feature of RRW. Provided a station/lot was lotted using the Rail LE textures included by Maxis/NAM, they will automatically update to RRW.

NOTE: Fix has been updated to include all three affected SG stations. The attachment can now be found a few posts below:

@rsc204  Thanks for the help . I haven't used your fix yet . The Clock Tower Station isn't the only lot affected . The Simtropolis Station also has an offset building . When I get around to checking out the other SG Rail items I'll get back to you . I have some running around to do today . Thanks again , you are always on top of your game with fixing stuff and I appreciate it very much .

Good day to you Sir .

Hey everybody , I'm back . First of all , I want to thank @rsc204 for his fix on the Clock Tower Station in his previous post . It worked perfectly . I nominate him to be awarded a medal . the "Mr.Fix It" Award .

Now , after testing the other Simgoober train stations .This is what I found.

You can see in the spoiler below that the model has been shifted , the same as the Clocktower Station .

Spoiler

SG SimTropolis Station found ( HERE ) on Simtropolis

And also , the same thing has happened with this one in the spoiler below .

Spoiler

G3XmkYO.jpg

SG Passenger Railroad Depot found (HERE) also on Simtropolis .

All three Stations are hosted here on Simtropolis and Simgoober has been inactive for 4 years now . I alway liked Simgoober's work and would like to see his/her content continue to be used . So what I was wondering is , since the problem seems to be NAM related . @rsc204  Or someone else from the NAM Team , Can a fix be created for these other two stations also , with instructions on how to apply them ?

I had tested the Simgoober freight stations too , and had found they still look/work as they did originally . Having the original rail textures , I guess hadn't been upgraded with NAM like the passenger stations were . I believe their rail textures are NCD's (NorthCountryDude) and I think I had seen a replacement for them somewhere , but I can't remember where offhand .

Do you guys think this thread should be moved to the NAM section and be pinned (HERE) until the next NAM release , provided the fixes are incorporated ? Just wondering , because I'm sure many people are probably long time users of these stations . And newer users won't be discouraged from using them . And if I can help in any way , just let me know . I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed , but i'm still in the shed and can be useful .

Thank you all , and have a good day .

As I said before, I am familiar with this problem, tracking it back, I'd already fixed that station, find that attached to this post:

I'll try to get onto the SG Passenger Railroad Depot too. There are a few other SG stations covered by NAM, I'll do my best to check them all.

The textures for rail lots that are auto-updated to RRW in the NAM is limited to the basic Ortho/Diag sections only. Many freight yards used custom textures, NCD's being one of the more popular sets. Indeed Eggman did release a RRW-compatible override that covers a lot of the NCD textures. You can find those here on the LEX.

This issue is definitely a NAM bug, somehow it looks like an error slipped into the modding of these stations. But thus far I only know it to affect SG's stations, even then there is a caveat. The NAM SLURPed stations come in four variants, only one of those four seems to have the fault. So I'm guessing that explains why it's only recently been brought to our attention. I'm not sure if we'd pin such fixes, we'll patch things our end for the next release, anyone having trouble can be directed to the fixes in the meantime.

@rsc204 I thank you for the prompt response , you have been so helpful and it is very much appreciated . I am going to apply the fix for the Sim Tropolis Station immediately . And thanks for the link to the NCD-RRW Override . I knew I seen it somewhere , I just couldn't remember where . Will you post that fix for the SG Passenger Railroad Depot here , when you get around to it ?

You have been of great assistance and you have a good day Sir .

I did some testing this evening and of the 6 SG rail stations covered by SLURP, only three have this problem:

  • SG Clock Tower Train Station
  • SG Passenger Depot Train Station
  • SG SimTropolis Train Station

I've updated the patch to include all three stations, I'll remove the previous files in the process.

Once again, do not install these files UNLESS you are having problems, they aren't for everyone. Note for the full effect, lots should be re-plopped too. Install these fixes by overwriting the files currently inside the z___NAM\MTA Station Overrides\Rail Stations\SimGoober folder.
