Hey y'all,

So my question goes out to anyone who can answer it.  I have played Simcity since I was a kid and I got Simcity 4 when it first hit the shelves.  About a year ago I found out that mods could be used for the game.  I got the Rush Hour expansion pack and went and got NAM.  I stopped playing for a while and started up again here recently.  I erased everything because I hadn't kept track of what mods I had and which ones worked and didn't.  I reloaded everything and put NAM 34 in.  I downloaded a few other things like terrain mods and flora mods.

Anyways there are 2 mods that I am looking for.  I'm a huge fan of haljackey,  I really like the "SimCity 4-Building A City From Scratch" series he has.  I like the skin he has for the bullet train skin but I can't seem to find it or know exactly what it is called to get it.  His road tool in the game has a cul de sac on the end of it.  I have to mod that makes the cul de sac at the end of the street tool but I like the one on the end of the road too.

If anyone could help point me in the correct direction I would really greatly appreciate it.

This changes monorail to HSR. Also, there are textures created by the same user that reskin monorail trains to bullet trains, they do not need the mod above for the skin change to work.

An image of the requested items would be nice as well, I did try to find the cul de sacs using the description given but no success.

Hey crishy, thanks for the reply, I downloaded that mod.  thanks for that link.  This is the drag-able HRS I get.  I found the Rail that looks like the pictures but thats the starter pieces.   The one he uses I see him just drag the rail out like the monorail I have. I attached a photo of that also.

I believe that that is what you are looking for, or the closest mod, in my knowledge.

Although not sure if it is already included in the latest versions of the NAM, I think it is so please check ingame beforehand.

You do need to plop up a starter piece (regular elevated or ground level) which would be at the end of your rail folder ingame, and then drag monorail across.

Thanks, I put that one in, its still not really what I am looking for.  I like the new mods though, if I can't find the other one, these will do.  Thanks again

Did you install the cul-de-sacs that come bundled with NAM? I think that's what he's using - look in Additional Features and Customizations>Road Textures and Markings section and there should be a box for cul de sacs at the end of roads. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I had the feeling when I looked closely at the images given.

You could try PMing him/her for that and the cul de sac.

Also, looking at the installer, NAM34 does include HSR so if you downloaded the older one from warrior (2008 updated 2011) I would remove it as well.

Yea, I always do a custom installation in the NAM as it allows me to see exactly what I am getting.

I just noticed I do have cul de sacs on my roads (from the NAM) so given I do not have an image to work with I think that that could be what you are looking for.

Crishy, which files should I remove?  Both the Bullet train mods from warrior and APTX?

    The one from warrior.

Check if you still have the starter (G)HSR starter pieces as the NAM description for its HSR in the installer is a bit vague, as I am not sure if they also use starter monorail pieces for their HSR (I was thinking they used warrior's stuff inside actually, though now I do not see his name in the list of contributors).

If it doesn't you can put warrior's back.

Never hurts to check, some mods that do similar things can conflict with each other, though since you already played without any apparent issues it should not be a big deal if you leave them all there.

When you click on the NAM installer, instead of a complete installation, choose custom. Make sure that and High Speed Rail are ticked on.

Ok, so to do a custom install now could I just reinstall NAM 34 and then choose custom install? Or do I have to uninstall NAM then reinstall.

Doing this would I loose the other mods I have installed?

Just peeking at the text of this conversation (haven't read everything), I think the problem is obvious.

The NAM includes the latest BTM mod by Moonlight, from 2013. That's the one HalJackey is using. So if you've been messing around with the earlier versions of the BTM mod or even HSR, then that explains why you are having problems.

BTM replaces the games default monorail network. You do not need HSR installed to use it, but you can have both if you want to for some reason. Just re-run the NAM installer with BTM mod selected and it will override any existing monorails. It also comes with one Shinkansen train by default, but I would recommend you check out Vester's fantastic Shinkansen trains, easily the best I know of.

p.s. The NAM installer remembers the last installed settings if you run it once more. There is no need to uninstall it first, nor would it affect other installed mods.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Ok, So I reinstalled NAM using the custom install.  Found the cul de sac and HSR tool or mod.  Among some others I thought I might try. Installed it and it is exactly what I am look for.  110% exactly.  Thank you for all y'alls help.

Hate to be a stickler, but what you have there is Moonlights BTM mod, not HSR.

Which mod is moonlight? because I had downloaded an HSR project windows mod before I reinstalled NAM.  Could it have been one of the options I selected in the custom install?

Multiple transportation network mods will get you into a lot of trouble if you are not ultra careful.  NAM 34 contains much of what has been in older mods.  When I installed this version of the NAM, I first purged any and all transportation mods including NAM 33 then did a custom install essentially from scratch.

So by default SC4 comes with a monorail network. The Bullet Train Mod (Named BTM in the installer) is the latest version by moonlight. It replaces the original Monorail network entirely.

In addition, the NAM also includes HSR, but this is not an override of Monorail, you can use it as well as monorail if you choose, it's an additional network. The picture you showed is Moonlights BTM.

If you downloaded a separate version of either the BTM or HSR, remove it entirely. The versions on the NAM supersede these add-ons.
