hello everyone, this a Cj of las vegas as im sure u can see. im trying to make this region as life-like as i can within the limits of simcity 4. although it may be a bit out of scale, im using google earth as a reference. this CJ will take awhile to complete, but hopefully not too long. i wanna thank EJC for the inspiration to create this as i am entranced on his CJ, after all im from ny, mallowthecloud for helping me with my map issues and for providing me this map of las vegas and the rest of his maps for all to use, joerg for the airport version 2.0 beta, the NAM team for helping these retarded sims get to point a to point b and for making our transportation options easier than ever, if i have forgotten anyone im sorry. i used a money cheat for the airport map ONLY, as it has cost me more than 3 million to build, with trial and error included. enough of me ranting already on with pics.

thats all for now! check back for more updates. if anyone has questions, concerns comments, or critism(plz be nice about it as this is my first CJ) let me know. i do however have a request, i need a render of the luxor hotel w/nightlights aka the pyramid. the one here isnt very good, its not bad but its not the luxor we all know of with the huge bright light at the top. if any B.A.T'ers can do this or have suggestions plz let me know as it is a centerpiece of las vegas. i Was gonna ask NDEX for help but recently learned they do not do requests, as i am a huge fan of the great work they do. i would be most grateful to anyone who can do this. it would be most appreciated. lastly i wanna thank dirk for giving us a great community to a great game, also the B.A.T'ers who make this game too much fun to play. i blame u for the ruin of my social life, thank you guys!

thanx guys for the comments, i am working on the airport first as i need it as a refernce to the rest of the surrounding area's so the next update will be of the completed airport. then  its off to development of the strip, or atleast i hope so if all goes well. thank u

as far as i know, las vegas has tons of suburban sprawl (i believe its the fastest growing city in america), are you going to try to recreate this?

on a worse note i am having issues now loading my city. it crashes to the desktop. i have added a fork terminal and a cargo area and thats all. so now my city is corrupt. but i have a back-up thank god. so updates are gonna be slower than expected due to this new issue. i am using joergs airport pack version 2.0 beta. if anyone knows of this issue please let me know, as i am discouredged. i may even have to start the airport over using a different pack, but this is worse case senario.

i have found the issue causing my city not to load and am waiting word from joerg on how to fix this issue. although my terminal is now missing but its no big deal for now.  i can now load this city and continue my journey throughout las vegas. thank you for being patient!

Good start and a hard job to do! I look forward to an interesting and realistic CJ. It will be very intersting how you will manage the several casino styles of this fabulous city! Do you plan to create some own lots and bats? As far as I know casinos aren't so numberous at the STEX...

The airport is coming along niceley after my incident with my plug-ins. it kinda just fixed it self after i did some tweaking. the airport is taking me longer than i would like since its all done pretty much one tile at a time, and i extended the runways a bit to compensate scale. google earth is a good tool but trying to figure out scale is hard to do. i bet im off im sure. i am going to post what i have later tonight on the airport. on  to comments!

Seacat13wildcat-i wish i could say i made this map but i cant take credit, the map was done by mallowthecloud. im not that talented with the terraforming tools. its avalible on the mex.

 

Micah-Thanx micah, i was a little scared i was gonna have to start over because of it. the problem fixed itself after i removed some plug-ins and replaced them. strange to me since i never had any issues with plug-ins until i got the airport pack version 2.0 beta. however i do expect it since it IS a beta, but i was hoping i would be lucky. i am still waiting word from joerg on why and how to fix it permanelty. hopefully i wont dissapoint u on Las Vegas.

greekman- yea i noticed everyone who started a cj on Las Vegas didnt get past the first page. lol. why ill never know. i did some research in the forums to see how many their were and if they were completed, their definitly is a lack of Las Vegas in the cj's. i hope to complete this as i have tons of free time latley, and hope not to dissapoint.

 

gpSIM-thanx for the compliment. i am wondering how im going to do this myself as like u say there is a lack of casino's on the stex. im hoping maybe a B.A.Ter may help me with this. cesears palace alone takes up one mile of street surface, and their just isnt a building here that big, and since i have no clue how to B.A.T im hoping i get lucky and find some help. any suggestions and help are welcome on this.

Nice start with the airport, I see Las Vegas Blvd and Sunset Road and even the UP line to Boulder City! Don't forget the little parking lot where us vegas people park and eat lunch and watch the planes take off and land!

im sorry it's taking so long for an update, ive had issues with the plugins folder and have since had to delete it completely. all is ok though i had a back up but its of the pics u see here with no new material to show. i did have the airport completed at one point but since the new problem i have lost all the recent work done. sorry for the inconvience and i promise to have an update very soon.

sloppet- im sure hoping so as im anxious to see what the next part i should do is gonna be. THE STRIP! cant wait.

 

jerebannus- no sorry i'm not. im using joergs airport pack version 2.1 beta. i relalize there is a 2.3 but its not as good as this one, atleast to me.but if i have anymore issues im starting that city over using the new simwings airport pack, in replace of joergs pack. it just wont look as good as jeorgs.

 

jpj_starfleet- im glad u like it. hopefully when all is done u will be able to see ur house, and friends too! when  im done with the city tiles i am naming the roads as in real life along with the lankmarks, streets, etc. i hope not to dissapoint u since u are from vegas. any tips are definitly welcome as u have inside info. i never been to vegas im just using google earth.

 

ok guys thats all for now, i just wanted to let everyone know i have NOT abandoned my CJ, just having issues is all. once sorted i have all the time in the world. thanx for being patient.

mmmh... you're right. But you can replace the original Strip by a central business district. You have also a lot to do with the suburbs .

dadyrghluv don't forget the little terminal between vegas blvd and the runways going north and south where all the rich people park there private jets when in town and there is also the Military Terminal with the several times a day flights to area 51 at groom lake and another base! (For Real)

sorry for not being on or giving an update, i was a bone head and forgot to pay the internet bill and i will resume my little project asap. sorry for the delay. i have straightened out my problems with my plug-ins finally, with some much unneeded troubles, but were back in buisness. thank you for being patient with me on this one, as i said it will take a while to complete.

 

 

jpj_starfleet- im one step ahead of u. i researched that area alot actually as i am fascinated with area-51, i even have a map of it for simcity 4. u are quite correct as this is the infamous terminal for area-51 jets. i have in place and will give u an update of a shot in it in the next hour or so. but its still incomplete, but comments on what u think would be appreicated, as i might not have it right.i do however have the second terminal in place as well but its not between vegas blvd and the runways from what i can tell. i might have to make sure on that.

I live in las vegas and I can say is that... There isn't a ugly coal plant next to the airport.
