Hello, I just had to login the first time in years to give my 2 cent. First I'm a SC4 fan and I have never played CityXL expect look at the screenshots and read about it. and I will never pay for this game, hell I wouldn't even waste time torrenting it. Why? Let see, what MC, the developing company did in my opinion was try to sell somebody a car while trying to charge it like it was a theme park ride. Man, they didn't even sell a decent car either. A car, when you buy it, you pay for it and its YOURS, no matter how bad or how good it is, the customer has ultimate choice over it. Like a car maker, a game maker does have intellectual rights of it, but a car marker wouldn't tell its customer HOW to drive it. Much less charge them to drive it. In a theme park, you pay for the rights to ride the ride. This is similar to the concept of a MMO (Like EVE, which I play)... which is fine to charge people a monthly fee. A theme park doesn't sell the customer the roller-coaster, only the ability to ride on it right? A car dealership doesn't charge the customer for a car then come back and be like "oh btw its XXX amount of money to drive it" Not only is MC is doing this. Unfortunately MC is selling a unfinished product. Without mass-transit features, it would be like selling a car without a 2nd gear. Does it drive? Sure, does it drive right? No. I consider mass-transit a key element in any city-builder, without it, its a person missing its legs. An more extreme example would be a city-builder without the ability to lay streets. More so, wouldn't it be ridiculous for a car dealership come back and charging the customer to have the 2nd gear installed... TEMPORARY and for a monthly fee? MC is doing this. A car, (like a game, good or bad) may have the option of like a better sound system, sun-roof, turbocharger, and yes it would be fair to charge money for that, but all those are considered extra luxury (like DLC content)...... not something that if lacking, would interrupt normal operation of that car..... after all a plane isn't a plane without wings and city-builder isn't a city-builder without a MASS-TRANSIT..... As for no SP without a internet connection... WTH was MC smoking? Thats like saying all people with glasses cannot be allowed to drive their car (or even ride the ride), even tho they paid for it. Sure they could choose to pay to get contacts or laser eye corrections (Like they could choose to get internet connection), but why should they? Playing the devils advocate, one could argue that this internet connection-requirement for SP was publicized, but why? Its bad business practice. Why limit the range of your customers over internet connection? (Might as well be over race, color, ethnicity or sex, it be just as illogical and dumb) More so, this car is like a ricer, all show and no go. I read all this about missing content? Buggy and Laggy game play? MC advertised this like a BMW, turned out to be a Geo eh? Actually the quality of the game isn't even the main concern....its how MC try to advertise this as a car, but charging it as a theme park ride. THATS shady advertisment, THATS bad business practice. I see all the flame, complaints, vulgarity and hate toward MC, and frankly in my honest opinion, MC deserves it. Its not just about the quality of your product (because if to be judge solely on it... GOD HELP YOU)... its how you treat your customers and how you practice business with them. I will not pay for BMW to get a Geo, I will not pay for a car to get a rental. Nor will I be told how to drive my car and when or when not to drive it. Frankly a used car dealership would be better, even if they badger you like a vulture to buy a car (pay monthly subscription??? sounds familiar?) at least that's over after you leave. And at least after you buy a crappy GEO, they don't hound you to buy a 2nd gear. Cheers

Woot Update! Caladan's cheif export... Pundi Rice! Hmmmm.. Tastes like shi.. I mean it tastes good. Suburbs of Caladan, where everyone lives happily under the Duke and nobody gets raped, murdered, robbed or the other stuff. To keep the population happy, the wonderful Duke has built a golf course! And a Hospital right next to it. (So if you get wacked in the face with a golf club, help is only a street away!) Anyways, I have a few questions, the docks.. Like the lil piers I saw on other people's screenshot, where do I get that? Becuase all I see is the harbors(Which I don't want) Are those from Rush Hour or are they addon bats? Speaking of Bats anybody want to give me a link to a different download site for it, not the EA one?

Downloading BAT. Apparently my CD key is already registered for some reason. So I can't download the BAT. So is there anywhere else I can find the program?

Yeah I decided I'm gonna start my own City Journal. I'm new to this whole journal thing, not to mention SIM CITY 4..tho I'm experienced with SIM CITY 3000. So I picked up Sim City 4 fast. Anyways... unfortunelly there is few Dune based buildings around (SOMEBODY GO MOD THEM GODDAMNIT ) So yeah, lets use our imagaination. Anyways I'm aiming for 3 major cities. Caladan (House Atredis) Kaitain (House Corrino, Imperial House) and Gedi Prime (House Harkonneon) *Hopefully when I get to Kaitain, some wonderful, kind, gentle human being would have the Imperial Palace. Note that they are suppose to be PLANETS but yeah lets scale them back into cities. This is Caladan Upper (Red light District) The ghetto! Note the wored down buildings. Anyways I started with Caladan Upper first and it is finished. Overview of Caladan Upper. In Dune Caladan was an waterly planet.. so yeah hence the large amount of ocean. Nothing really special.. unless you want to watch old abandoned buildings... Anyways working on Caladan-Lower. So yeah suggestions.

Imperial Palace, Kaitain from Dune. It is the large building in the center. Also I won't mind the other buildings Laasard forums.. etc.

Yes I want the imperial palace so badly.. Perhaps somebody can mod it. unfortunely my modding skills is non-existent.

Is there any building models that is from Dune? The Imperial Palace on Kaitain? Just wondering. Thanks.
