Common problem, not aware of any solution unless you have a disk-copy lying around. If you do, remove the Origin version and install the disk version. It probably won't run, but at this point you should be able to install SC4BAT.

Then remove the CD version and re-install Origin, once SC4BAT (and gMax) are installed, it won't matter any more.

The issue is that this program reads a checksum from the games main .exe, the application itself. EA modified this for the Origin release to include DRM features. Only they didn't bother to update the SC4BAT to know of the change, so it throws up this error. Origin are not interested in supporting these add-ons, so I wouldn't waste your time complaining to them.

If you bought it, usually you have a little time to return the game and obtain a refund. The DRM-Free versions from GoG, Amazon and other vendors, does not suffer the same fate. Until Tarkus brought up a similar issues with the EP1 and nitelighting patches failing, Origin were the only ones selling an unpatched version of SC4!

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Do people with the GOG/Amazon versions have trouble running BAT/Lot Editor/GMAX? Or is it only with the Origin version? (Just wondering if it's easier to download from GOG instead of uninstalling and trying to reinstall the CD version)?

Thanks Bombardiere! I'll try the GOG version, re-installing from the disks hasn't worked for me, and I'm not a huge fan or Origin, so I don't mind buying the GOG version--I'll give it a shot.
